Chris Aborqui, a 24 year Navy veteran, chose to help small business owners navigate the accounting world by providing outsourced bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services. As a small business owner himself in the Virginia Beach area, he understands the struggles business owners face managing their business.
Pam Hill, founder and CEO of My Smart Cousin, is a real estate investor who owns 25 properties and 31 units, all purchased for the price of a car, and in some cases, a bicycle, at $2,500 to $35,000. Pam began her real estate investment career ten years ago during the Great Recession, as a side hustle while working as an executive at an electric utility company. Since then Pam has become the ‘Smart Cousin’ to everyone in her family with personal finance and real estate advice, as well as a real estate investment coach, teaching others how to buy their first or 101st property for the price of a car. Pam received her Bachelors degree from Dartmouth College and her Masters degree from Harvard University. Pam coaches her clients in English, Spanish, and Mandarin, Chinese when required, as a graduate of Johns Hopkins’ Chinese studies program in Nanjing, China.
Finding the fantastic” between the hustle of surviving life and achieving it. Colleen Dee Tiberius Shumaker is real and authentic. With a twist of learning disabilities, she calls her super powers, her goal is to show people they are not alone in their struggles, and they matter. She is able to do this through her podcast called “Finding the Fantastic” where she sheds light on everyday stereotypes, and the troubles that those bring, to help galvanize and motivate people’s individuality.
She realized that many current skincare ingredients, such as fragrances or fillers, break out her skin so she created her own skincare products in her kitchen. She documented her struggle on her YouTube channel, which now garners over 70M views. Eventually, her followers saw great results on her skin and encouraged her to launch her own business. Now she and her diverse team focus on inspiring confidence in others. Together with the Banish Warriors and Soldiers, Daisy joins the acne community in their skin journey.
Amy is the co-founder of Inbound Back Office, back-office support for marketing agencies. She comes from a long background of working in the corporate world as an administrative assistant in many different industries. IBO started as a freelance side hustle, but it grew so fast, that she decided joined forces with Michael Reynolds, former marketing agency owner, so they could manage it together. Today IBO is a 57-employee, fully-remote, booming business. Amy resides in Pennsylvania with her amazing husband and a handful of kids and dogs.
Nikki started her fashion career shortly after graduating from the general fine arts undergrad program. She debuted her senior collection in DC fashion week then went on to New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks in 2017. She began her residency with the DC Fashion Foundation in the same year in which she had a studio inside the Macy’s at metro center. There she was able to cultivate and grow her fashion company. She then went on to later participate in Feeric Fashion Week in Sibiu, Romania and London fashion week. She now has dedicated her business solely to creating masks during the pandemic. She plans on re-launching her brand in Feb 2021 to include women’s clothing, accessories and masks.
