Kristen Cipriano

And so because I'm a long-term meditator and I practice meditation daily, sometimes multiple times per day, I'm actually able to come to my coaching calls in an elevated state of mind, which allows me to have deeper intuition to uncover those hidden truths. Because sometimes clients can be dissociated from their emotions, or they don't know what exactly is going on in their body.

Intro 00:24

Do you want to learn effective ways to build relationships, generate sales, and grow your business from successful entrepreneurs, startups, and CEOs without listening to a long, long, long interview?

If so, you've come to the right place. Gresham Harkness values your time and is ready to share with you. The information you're in search of, this is the, I Am CEO podcast.

Gresham Harkless 00:50

Hello. Hello. Hello. This is Gresh from the I am CEO podcast, and I appreciate you listening to this episode. If you've been listening this year, you know that we hit 1600 episodes at the beginning of this year.

And we're doing something a little bit different where we're repurposing our favorite episodes around certain categories, topics or as I like to call them business pillars that we think are going to be extremely impactful for CEOs, entrepreneurs and business owners, or what I like to call CB nation architects who are looking to level up their organizations.

This month, we are focused on innovation, disruption, women entrepreneurship, DEI, gig economy, remote economy, even the cannabis industry. Think about these industries and these disruptive technologies that really sometimes aren't as disruptive, but there's people that are just paying attention to what the market needs and they're providing that.

So really think about the things that are quote unquote outside of the norm, but really help entrepreneurship to grow and fully develop. I think it's an extremely exciting time when you're talking about any type of innovation or disruption, because I think that there's so many opportunities and needs that aren't felt that are starting to be filled by different groups, different organizations, or even different industries.

So what I want you to do is sit back and enjoy this special episode of the IAMCEO podcast.

Hello, hello, hello. This is Gresh from the I Am CEO podcast. I have a very special guest on the show today. I have Kristen Cipriano of kristencipriano.com. Kristen, excited to have you on the show.

Kristen Cipriano 02:15

Thanks so much for having me. I'm excited to be here.

Gresham Harkless 02:17

Yes, I am too and love all the awesome things that you're doing. And before we jumped into, all those awesome things, I want to read a little bit more about Kristen so you can hear about some of those awesome things.

And Kristen is a business mindset, manifestation and energetics coach who empowers women to master the principles of manifestation so that they can create their dream life, business income with more ease. Combining modalities such as NLP, somatic healing, energetics and awakening practices.

She supports women integrating past traumas and embodying worthiness and abundance. So calling in their desires become natural. Kristen excited again to have you on the show. Are you ready to speak to the IAMCEO community.

Kristen Cipriano 02:58

I am so ready.

[restrict paid=”true”]

Gresham Harkless 03:00

All right, let's get it started then. So to kick everything off, I wanted to rewind the clock a little bit, hear a little bit more on how you got started, what I call your CEO story.

Kristen Cipriano 03:08

Absolutely. So I originally started my business from the social media marketing space and about a year in, I started to realize that I had these persistent business problems that wouldn't go away no matter what I tried to do.

And these were things like, clients paying their invoices late or not being able to grow beyond a certain income ceiling or, not being able to score the kinds of collaborations I wanted to be a part of. And I just kept noticing that these problems wouldn't go away. And what I came to understand and realize is that wherever there's a persistent business problem that doesn't go away, no matter what you do, there's a deeper truth there.

And so I started to explore those deeper truths when within myself. And that led me down a path of healing my childhood trauma and other highly emotional events throughout my young adulthood. And what I found, which was really interesting, is as I liberated some of those past experiences from my body and my subconscious mind, those persistent business problems completely disappeared.

And I was able to start opening myself up to liberated success. And I define liberated success as being uncapped in your potential without sacrificing your health, your relationships, your wellbeing, or your joy.

Gresham Harkless 04:25

Nice. I absolutely love that. I love that word uncapped. It's just so powerful to think of that, potential. And again, sometimes we can get into not being in that abundant mindset where we think, okay, if I have an uncapped potential, then I have to give up health. I have to give up wealth or, you sometimes think that either, or, but I love the both of that definition because I think it's something that will redefine how we're approaching success as a whole.

Kristen Cipriano 04:49

Absolutely. And I think it's so important to us as CEOs. We need to be able to function in other areas of our life. We can't be in this tunnel vision approach with our business.

Gresham Harkless 04:59

Yeah, absolutely. And I'm a big believer in so often we can look at life. We can look at business, especially in silos.

And I really appreciate you telling your story because I think so many times we could say, okay I'm having these issues in my business. I'm having these issues are things that I maybe need to delve into in life, but they're probably not affecting one another. But I love how hearing how you work through those things and uncover those truths and how they were able to help you out and your business.

I imagine other aspects of your life as well.

Kristen Cipriano 05:27

Absolutely. It's all interconnected. We think that they're separate, but something that's happening in one area of your life is absolutely affecting your business and the more we can open ourselves up to see what those deeper truths are and be able to liberate them from our subconscious mind and our body, then the more freedom we experience.

Not just as CEOs and leaders, but also as people.

Gresham Harkless 05:49

Yeah, absolutely. So I wanted to drill down a little bit more on how you're working with and serving your clients.

And I wanted to hear how that process goes and also hear a lot more about your podcast as well, too, and how you're serving your clients there.

Kristen Cipriano 06:01

Absolutely. Yeah. So I have coaching programs. I have masterminds and I also have online education. So online courses that I sell on my website and all of these are designed to help you access that liberated success.

They touch on different areas, some of them are focused specifically on money. Some of them are more holistic, they're for business, money and all the things. But they're all guiding you to uncovering these deeper truths, liberating yourself and reaching that liberated success.

And then we do have a podcast. Right now it's under the name Soul Expansion Podcast and we're launching season two in early 2022. So keep an eye out for that. And on this podcast, we've really been able to dive in deep to some of the trauma, some of the deeper truths, but also the manifestation principles.

And I really take a both and approach because we can also get caught in a pattern of, constantly trying to heal ourselves so much so that we don't do any of the things that actually lead to long term success. So we have to marry both the liberation and the trauma healing work with the success mindset and the success habits that lead us to the goals we want to manifest.

Gresham Harkless 07:11

Awesome. So what would you consider to be what I like to call your secret sauce? And this could be for yourself, the business or a combination of both, but what do you feel sets you apart and makes you unique?

Kristen Cipriano 07:20

Absolutely. So this is not unique to me, but I am highly developed in intuitive coaching. So intuitive coaching is, what happens for me is literally when I'm on a coaching call, I'm in a different brain state, right? Like my mind is in an elevated state. We have different brain waves. Beta waves are our normal waking state.

Alpha waves are more meditative. Theta waves are more dreamlike. That's where you start to experience like these intense breakthroughs and synchronicities. And then Delta dream waves are when we're asleep.

And so because I'm a long term meditator and I practice meditation daily, sometimes multiple times per day, I'm actually able to come to my coaching calls in an elevated state of mind, which allows me to have deeper intuition to uncover those hidden truths.

Because sometimes clients can be dissociated from their emotions or they don't know what exactly is going on in their body, right? So you can be very much in your head space and not really understanding what you're feeling in your body. And this was definitely true for me in the beginning of my journey.

So because I am so intuitive, I'm actually able to help my clients see what's going on in their body, even if they're not sure themselves. And then they start to be able to uncover that for themselves. feel more embodied and also more in tune with themselves.

And the result of this intuitive coaching as we get to the source of those persistent business problems instead of beating around the bush because what I found with a lot of clients is our subconscious mind will protect us from the source of the problem at all costs.

So if we're not able to lift up that veil and see what's underneath or we don't have someone who's able to support us in that, then the source of the problem persists.

Gresham Harkless 09:04

Yeah, that makes so much sense. So I wanted to switch gears a little bit, and I wanted to ask you for what I call a CEO hack.

So this could be like an app, a book or a habit that you have, but what's something that makes you more effective and efficient?

Kristen Cipriano 09:15

Yeah. So I'm going to bring it back to meditation. Meditation is the best thing I do, not only for my business as a CEO, but also for my own personal well-being. And you asked me five years ago.

Kristen, would you meditate? I would have said I don't have time or I'm too anxious to meditate. And I think a lot of us feel this way. So I just wanted to like share that anecdote and let you know that over time it does get easier.

And if you're just starting out with meditation, obviously start with guided meditations because sometimes just sitting in silence doesn't work if you're not practiced with meditation.

And over time you can work up to just sitting in silence or just having tones playing or something like that. But what's so powerful about meditation as the CEO is it allows the business decisions you make and the actions you take to be 10 times, if not a hundred times more powerful than they would be if you didn't meditate.

So what this looks like is if you are a non-meditator and you're in that reactive state that we talked about where you're constantly putting out fires, you might take a hundred or even a thousand actions in one day to run your business. But if you're in a meditative state, you can actually take 10 actions that same day and attract more money, have a much bigger impact in whatever your industry is and grow your business exponentially.

So you truly get to do less and make more simply because the actions you're taking are so much more powerful and also so much more precise for what it is that you're wanting to achieve.

Gresham Harkless 10:47

Yeah, that makes so much sense. And it sounds so counterintuitive if you're thinking about it, it's in order for me to do more, I have to do less so to speak.

But the word that I wrote down was impact, and I love that word precise and precision, because you start to make more impact because you're working on the things that are actually like moving things forward, on a deeper level. And I think it goes back to, and I love like how you work with your clients because it's, being able to see that force and understand that it's not maybe sometimes A, B, and C that are actually gonna move things forward.

Actually going deeper and maybe going to what Z is, something that we would have done a completely last, but that has the most impact. So being able to harness that is so powerful.

Kristen Cipriano 11:22

And you receive insights from higher levels of mind that you wouldn't be able to even imagine if you were just putting out fires all day.

It's like in the moments of silence, that's where I get the most brilliant ideas that make me the most money. Or. the most brilliant ideas for the next move I'm going to make, including ending up on this podcast. So we got to take that time to allow the silence to teach us what we need to do next.

Gresham Harkless 11:48

Yeah, I love that. And I often will say create that space because if we're so busy, putting this into that space and that's what we don't have that time to actually, just meditate on the things that we've done, the decisions that we have to make so that we can make not necessarily guaranteed decisions, but those as best as possible decisions.

So I really love, the practicality of that. I love even more how you talked about your journey related to that, because I think sometimes you're like, Hey, I don't have enough time. I can't afford to meditate on a daily basis, but in reality, sometimes you can't afford not to with the amount of things that you have to.

Kristen Cipriano 12:19

Totally. I was just going to say that, you cant afford not to.

Gresham Harkless 12:24

Absolutely. I love it. So, what would you consider to be what I like to call a CEO nugget? So that's a little bit more word of wisdom or piece of advice. I like to say it might be something you would tell your younger business self, if you were to hop into a time machine or potentially your favorite client.

Kristen Cipriano 12:38

Yeah. So if I could talk to my younger business self or anyone who owns a business, who's maybe in the earlier stages is follow the passion and the profits will come. And I think sometimes we can get stuck. And for me, I really got stuck like in my first year of business, I started from this place of passion, but then I lost that as a lot of my trauma came up and then I was just chasing money.

And when you chase money, it's harder to make money. And so the more you can come back to the passion, which sometimes if you're a year in two years and three years in, sometimes that can fade away, the more you can reconnect to that. The more you're going to be able to continue to grow and expand and also feel more fulfilled in your business because when we're just chasing money, we don't feel that fulfillment in the same way it lasts 30 seconds when a payment comes in and then it's gone and then you're chasing the next payment.

So we have to dig a little deeper and really lean into that passion and that purpose to build a sustainable and long-lasting legacy.

Gresham Harkless 13:39

Nice. And I love that part that you talked about that, the reconnecting to it. And so now I wanted to ask you my absolute favorite question, which is the definition of what it means to be a CEO.

We're hoping to have different quote and quote CEOs on the show. So Kristen, what does being a CEO mean to you?

Kristen Cipriano 13:53

Being a CEO to me means leading a movement. And it's so cool. The work I do because I work with other business owners. I work with other emerging leaders. I work with other CEOs. So when I'm on a call with a client, I'm not just impacting them.

I'm impacting their legacy. And not only that, I'm also impacting their family and everything that they experience in life because we're able to create that safety and that steadiness and that ability to navigate the unknown of business with clarity and confidence, which of course allows them to thrive and reach that liberated success that we talked about at the beginning.

So it's leading this movement and then also knowing that there's countless infinite other movements that are being birthed through the work that I do with other leaders.

Gresham Harkless 14:42

Yeah, absolutely. You get that domino effect. And I love that word, legacy. And it was coming to my mind as even reframing, some ways that we look at certain things.

Kristen truly appreciate that definition. And of course I appreciate your time even more. So what I wanted to do now was pass you the mic, so to speak, just to see if there's anything additional that you can let our readers and listeners know. And of course, how best people can get out of you subscribe to your podcast, find out about your courses and all the awesome things that you're working on.

Kristen Cipriano 15:10

Yeah, so the best way to get in touch with me is on Instagram. I'm Kristen.Cipriano on Instagram. kristencipriano.com is my main website where you can find out how to work with me. We're always updating the work with me page to be up to date. And then I have a free gift for listeners.

So if you go to futureselfmeditation.com, you can enter your email. And I have a meditation that actually takes you through to a place of safety and then allows you to expand from there so that you can start to operate from a higher level of mind in your life and business.

Gresham Harkless 15:44

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. And to make that even easier, we're going to have the links and information that show notes too, so that everybody can take advantage of that free gift.

Listen to the podcast, find out about all the awesome things that you're doing, but I absolutely love, everything that you're working on and everything that you're doing and the last point really reminded me of I think the seven habits of highly effective people beginning with the end in mind.

I love meditating with your future self and in that place of safety and figuring out how you can reverse engineer or work backwards from there. I think it's so powerful to be able to do that. So thank you so much for all you do for sharing that as well, too. And I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day.

Kristen Cipriano 16:17

Thank you so much. Thanks for having me.
