Gresham Harkless shares a powerful and personal update centered around his 38th birthday, using the day as a moment of introspection and realignment.
He recalls being on a podcast at 11:38 AM, the exact time he was born, which he felt was perfectly on brand and symbolic of his purpose-driven journey.
A standout moment from his birthday was the hydro float therapy session, where the calm, weightless experience in saltwater offered a clear reminder that sometimes progress comes not from effort, but from learning to release and trust the flow.
Gresham reflects on how entrepreneurs often carry the weight of constant decision-making, leadership responsibilities, and personal obligations, and how experiences like floating remind him that release can lead to greater clarity and peace.
Additionally, Gresham expresses excitement for the future, believing that the seeds he planted are beginning to grow and that through consistent action and spiritual trust, transformation is already underway.

Intro 00:01
Are you ready to hear business stories and learn effective ways to build relationships, generate sales, and level up your business from awesome CEOs, entrepreneurs, and founders without listening to a long, long, long interview?
If so, you've come to the right place. Gresh values your time and is ready to share with you the valuable info you're in search of. This is the I AM CEO Podcast.
Gresham Harkless 00:28
Hello, hello, hello. This is Gresh from the I AM CEO Podcast. And this is a special episode of our I AM CEO Podcast.
And this is actually going to be a snippet of a snippet, so to speak. I'm just doing an intro because I've been starting to document my journey into starting what is now called Blue Star Franchise.
We're also going to do a kind of sub site within CB Nation called Franchise CEO. So you'll see some links in the show notes related to that.
But just wanted to give you a little bit more insight, give you a little bit more color in some of the aspects of why I'm actually doing this.
Because one of the things I was doing as I was going through training to start up this new business was realizing and hearing from the founder of FBA, the Franchise Brokers Association, that it'd be really cool to document your journey going through and building this out.
I think it's something that would be super helpful, obviously for people that are looking for and thinking about starting franchises.
But frankly, if you're starting anything, any type of business, I think it's really cool to kind of just even see the journey and how it's been going from there.
So, I'm going to share a few of those snippets from the, from the first couple of videos that have been created.
But definitely, of course, subscribe to our YouTube, check out a lot more where I figure out exactly where we're going to post this.
So, I'll have that information that's available to you. But regardless, if you're a builder, continue to keep building, continue to do your thing.
The world definitely needs exactly what you're trying to build and needs you to be your unique self.
So, make sure to run your own race, because nobody can run your race like you. This is Gresh signing out. I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day.
And day 204 of this franchise broker journey. I'm now officially 38 years old. Yesterday was my birthday.
And, I was actually, my mom asked me all the time, what was I doing at 11:38, which was when I was born, and I was actually doing a podcast, which is, I think, right on brand and right in alignment with what I should be doing.
But with that being said, excited around a new year, excited to see what ultimately comes about from this year. I'm very much so dialed in on making that change. My wife, actually, we had a whole day where we did a couple things.
But I think the day that was the thing that was probably the most exciting, we did this hydro floating or energy. I think it's hydro floating. This was on water, a lot of salt, and just floated. We also did the sauna and things like that.
[restrict paid=”true”]
And I've done saunas in the past, but I think it was the hydro float. That was really, really cool just because in the grand scheme of things, it might've been one of the most fun experiences because it allowed me just to let go.
I think it's such a strong parallel between this and what should be done, like when you're doing franchising, or especially if you're in a more established concept.
But frankly, and a lot of things in life is that sometimes we just have to let go, and this kind of force you to let go because you didn't have to, you floated even if you didn't know how to float, even if you weren't a strong swimmer, the salt in the water would actually help you to float.
But I think what took it to another level is that the more you let go, the more release that you had.
So I went through that experience, had that release, and it was really, really good just because I think so many times, especially as business owners, we hold on to so many things. We have to make so many decisions.
And then you add on life, family. If you own multiple businesses, you know, there's just so many things that are involved.
Leading people, like trying to build them up, trying to, you know, see the growth of the people that are on your teams. All those things are very, very awesome to kind of see, ultimately see what that looks like.
So, I'm just, extremely excited around, what this future is going to ultimately bring. I think the ideas that I have are in place, the seeds are planted, but it's just a matter of bringing those to fruition is what's going to be that ultimate next step.
So that being said, you know, it's day 204. And, I'm excited to kind of go back to work. The little one woke up a lot. That was a whole thing.
But I think in having that experience of releasing, you can't control those things. You can't control all the things.
You can't do all the things. Sometimes you just have to let go. And that's a lot of what I took away from that experience is just letting go and it's going to be okay. You're still going to float.
You're still going to do whatever it is that you want to do. And I think a couple of that with the podcast interview that I had during my birthday time, it was pretty much like, yeah, you can't control all the things.
And frankly, if you have faith, things are going to work out in your in a good favor anyway, depending on what you believe what that faith looks like, it's going to be different, of course.
But for me, I'm always like okay, for the glory of God, these things are going to work out, so you're going to be what I'm supposed to be doing anyways.
So, you just have that faith, you lean more into it, and you just take it from there, so this is day 204, excited about the transformation and changes that are happening, and then what's gonna come out about it as a result of that.
Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. And of course, looking forward to giving you more and more updates.
