Silke, are you ready to speak to the I AM CEO Community?

[restrict paid=”true”]

Silke Glaab 1:37

Yes, very much. Very exciting.

Gresham Harkless 1:41

Awesome. Let's do it. So I appreciate that tongue twister, there are a lot of big words in your bio. But what I wanted to do was just hear a little bit more about what I call your CEO story, what led you to start your business.

Silke Glaab 1:50

So I have a master's degree in psychology, in organizational psychology. And in the last 15 years, I concentrated on coaching and counseling. But then there came a time I had really stuck. Because in coaching, you create mostly awareness and insights. And then you try over several sessions to change behavior. And this was actually too long for me. And I created a vision to really help people with burnout, anxiety, and depression, to lift them up, or to elevate them in four hours. And I was very much determined. I looked and repeat the best tools to achieve that, that people really boost their well-being and performance in four hours.

Gresham Harkless 2:52

Absolutely, absolutely. And I know for everybody, time is of the essence. So getting an opportunity to be able to unlock a lot of those opportunities sometimes within yourself and be able to do that with you is definitely awesome. And I appreciate you for being able to do that. So I want to drill down a little bit deeper and hear how you serve clients could you work with. So could you drill down a little bit deeper? Tell us what you do.

Silke Glaab 3:11

Yeah. So what I offer to the clients is my elevate intensive. And let me start with a metaphor. Just imagine your life is a computer program. And you run your life by certain instructions and commands you give to yourself and these commands are given by your brain. Now when you're in a very stressful situation, then all of a sudden your programs start hanging, freezing, moving, or not working very well working very slowly. And this is what you experienced you think not here, you can concentrate, you can't really be creative, you can't make the best decisions.

And if this stressful situation continues, then you may be forced to shut down the whole system now and what I offer in my elevate intensive this that in the first hour, we just look at your life program, and how is it currently functioning. In the second and third sessions, we look at the coding. I mean, what kind of welder instructions and commands have you given to yourself?

So we analyze it, we crack your code, and then we rewrite it with much better instructions, with new instructions, and with supporting instructions so that your live program can now run in an updated version. And it will run much more smoothly. And in the final session, then you only have to restart. If you have installed it and you progress, you always have to restart it.

So you will restart it to really settle down this new program. And the methods I'm using you already mentioned, are my systemic work, how we crack the code is through hypnotherapy. And also rewriting will be done with hypnotherapy. And then the last session is whatever the clients can use, it can be some of your native recordings, or whatever to really settle down the program.

Gresham Harkless 5:47

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. And as you were talking, I'm glad you gave that kind of metaphor, because I'm a computer geek and computer net. So I'm always taking control of the lead and how to fix things. And as you said, sometimes when you just keep things running, you have to reboot it, you have to start over, you have to check all those different programs and systems, and like you said you're telling yourself to make sure that they're helping you to run to an optimal level. And sometimes you just have to start it over just to reboot it again. So I love that. And I love that perspective. And I wanted to ask you now about what I call your secret sauce, you might have already touched on this, but what do you feel kind of distinguishes you or your organization?

Silke Glaab 6:21

Yes, sure. My secret hack for everybody is to maintain your life programs. And the easiest way to do that is to sneeze. So sneeze and the S of the sneeze stands for sleep, your nervous cells, need an ample amount of sleep. And the recommended time for this is seven hours. Why do I say that because your brain is going through several sleeping circles during the night? And in this time, you will use the release hormones to recover the reboot load-up memory of the day and also to rejuvenate. Therefore, sleep is so important for your nerve cells. Then N stands for nutrition. Your nervous cells are made from fats and proteins.

So the basic food or the best food for them is oil fatty acids that you can get from Olive oil and avocados, you can get them from nuts, Omega fish oils, and use good proteins. Avoid any starchy carbohydrates like white rice, pasta, or sugar. Because during times of stress, your sugar levels are already quite high and you want to avoid it. The next one is the E. E stands for emotional control.

And here I really made a lot of experience that a lot of people nowadays are so disassociated from their body. And your body holds crucial information about how you are feeling at that very moment. Because whatever happens in your brain has a physical response in your body, you can sense it. So just drop into your body. And sense what's going on. Are your shoulders tight instead? What about your jawline? What's happening there and just name it. The moment you name it, you are in control and you can shift it, very important.

And if you sense that your head feels very heavy, then it's time to go for a break, a break can be that you just drop everything and you look outside the window. Yeah, just notice what is there. You don't need to look at something specific. It's only that you notice and get a bite. Yeah, if you're in the countryside, then you're lucky then you can look really into the countryside. Otherwise, you can also just wake up walk around a little bit, do some jumping jacks, or just breeze to the screen for one or two minutes. And this will also shift your emotions in your body, this is number three, emotional control. The next one is an activity.

And in this case, you should do the opposite of what you're doing during your work time. If you're sitting all day long, then you have to do the opposite. So in your activity, you should really jump around, go jogging, go swimming, do something active, or do high-intensity workouts. If you're already quite busy, if you're in your work time, you're supposed to do something more relaxing. And this can be yoga, tai chi, chi gong, something like this, or just walking, if you have a dog, it's always easier. But just watch.

The second S stands for social interactions. Meet up with your friends and relatives. Schedule a time that you need people in person. That's very, very important. Because then you have this feeling of bonding, you get another perspective, oxytocin is released. This also gives you a feeling that you belong and you're safe.

And the last one is E which stands for excitement, and enthusiasm. And it can be a passion for life, it can be a passion for your work. Done. So, maintain it with sneeze, sneeze, as much as you can. And if you feel overwhelmed with six items, choose only two. And I always recommend looking at your sleep. That's the most neglected thing from people, people think it is enough to sleep for five hours. If you're young, and if you're in your 20s, you think I'm young enough, I recover. But no, our brains are still functioning in a certain way. It's a reptile brain. And even if you live in the 21st century, it's still working like that. And you can't recover from that, or can we do it during the daytime, and then just select one of the other ones I mentioned?

Gresham Harkless 12:24

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I love that acronym. I like acronyms because it makes it easier for me to remember. But also to be able to get and understand that, it's not just one thing that makes an impact. It's all of these things, and they're all kind of intertwined as well, too. So maybe, if you're focusing on one aspect, like your nutrition, you also can make sure like you mentioned to get more sleep or if you're not having enough social time with your friends and family. You need to incorporate that. But you get an idea of how all those factors can kind of have an impact on you.

Silke Glaab 12:53

Yes, yes. Yeah, so well, what I normally do is like a secret hack that everybody can apply without worrying about hypnotherapy. And this is to maintain your programs. That's very crucial. The other one is to change your programs to rewrite them. But the major thing is also to maintain your program.

Gresham Harkless 13:22

What's the best way they can?

Silke Glaab 13:23

Yeah, so the best way for you to connect with me is through my website, my website is called silkcelia.com. And if you scroll down, you will find a masterclass. This one you can also attend and learn about how you can reprogram your stress into wellbeing. And you also get an insight into my method, or you go scroll down and if you book your free consultation session, everything is on the website. If you're on LinkedIn you will find me on silkeglaab. But I believe the easiest way is really through my website.

Gresham Harkless 14:13

Okay, for every perfect, Barbara, I appreciate you. And we will have those links in the show notes so that anybody can that wants to follow up with you to connect with you on LinkedIn or of course on your website as well. We'll definitely have that below. But I appreciate you again. And I hope you have a phenomenal rest today.

Silke Glaab 14:28

Yeah, thank you very much. And also you will listen to us, thank you very much for listening and I hope you got nuggets and hex out of it.

Gresham Harkless 14:40

Absolutely. That makes perfect sense. So now that you gave us our CEO hack I wanted to ask you for what I call a CEO nugget and this is a word of wisdom or piece of advice or if you can happen to a time machine. What would you tell?

Silke Glaab 14:53

Yeah, my nugget is more like an offer for you because I'm very much convinced about my elevated intensive, I've worked on it for nearly 15 years, yeah, to come up with it. And I offer your listeners half an hour of free consultation so that they can really learn that method and how powerful it is and how they can apply for BNI

Gresham Harkless 15:22

Absolutely, that's a big thing, because all the time, you hear all the great information, but sometimes you don't take action, actually take action. So you've been able to offer that nugget that offer for our listeners, I truly appreciate that. So I appreciate your time. What I want to do is pass you the mic so to speak, to see if there's anything additional I'm sorry. I wanted to ask you my absolute favorite question, which is the definition of what it means to be a CEO. So we're hoping to have different quote-unquote CEOs on the show. So what does it mean to be?

Silke Glaab 15:54

Yeah, probably it has to be brain-based. So if you're cheating, I expect the operator is actually your brain. Because your brain is unsafe. It runs you, it runs how you think, how you feel, and how you act. Therefore, the chief executive operator is your brain.
