IAM2623 – Overcoming Public Struggles: The Final Sprint

In this episode, Gresh emphasizes the importance of staying true to one’s unique vision while continuously “building”.

He explores the frustration of low leaderboard rankings, the feeling of being “mid‑tier” among roughly a hundred brokers, and the broader challenge of navigating early‑stage struggles.

Despite the setbacks, he frames these hurdles as learning opportunities, stressing the need to adjust strategies, sharpen mental resilience, and keep pushing forward toward the goal of becoming a million‑dollar broker.

Intro 00:01
Are you ready to hear business stories and learn effective ways to build relationships, generate sales, and level up your business from awesome CEOs, entrepreneurs, and founders without listening to a long, long, long interview?

If so, you've come to the right place. Gresh values your time and is ready to share with you the valuable info you're in search of. This is the I AM CEO podcast.

Hello. Hello. Hello. This is Gresh from the I AM CEO podcast. And this is a special episode of our I AM CEO podcast.

And this is actually going to be a snippet of a snippet. So to speak, I'm just doing an intro because I've been starting to document my journey into starting what is now called Blue Star Franchise.

We're also going to do a kind of subsite within CB Nation called a franchise CEO. So you'll see some links in the show notes related to that.

But I just want to give you a little bit more insight, give you a little bit more color in some of the aspects of why I'm actually doing this, because one of the things I was doing as I was going through training to start up this new business was realizing and hearing from the founder of FBA, the Franchise Brokers Association, that it'd be really cool to docent your journey going through and building this out.

I think it's something that would be super helpful, obviously, for people that are looking for and thinking about starting franchises.

But frankly, if you're starting anything, any type of business, I think it's really cool to kind of just even see the journey and how it's been going from there. So I'm going to share a few of those snippets from the first couple of videos that have been created.

But definitely, of course, subscribe to our YouTube. Check out a lot more where I figure out exactly where we're going to post this.

So I have that information that's available to you. But regardless, if you're a builder, continue to keep building, continue to do your thing.

The world definitely needs exactly what you're trying to build. It needs you to be your unique self. So make sure to run your own race because nobody can run your race like you. This is Gresh signing out. I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day.

It's hard to believe there's been 100 days of this broker journey, 100 days left. And it'll be a year in this broker journey at zero sales.

And I think one of the things that is probably most interesting about these recordings is that I haven't made a sale and what that feels like, what that looks like when you're going through your business and you're struggling and it's not working.

What do you do in other parts of your life for struggling as well, too? And it's just like a juggle of all these different things. And I think what we what I often have heard from people that go through this journey is like a lot of times you just struggle in the beginning.

Like there's one person that I talked to that I kind of hit hit home run within his first year, I wanted to duplicate that. That was really my goal. And I did do that. And I think that's the really big challenges.

How do you navigate those things? How do you navigate the struggles and the challenges so that you can get better? How do you continue on no matter the reason why?

And I think that's what has definitely been more of the, learning lesson that I've, you know, picked up over the year is that I definitely have to, you know, I have to adjust like what I'm doing, I have to be better.

But I also think that, you know, that's part of the process, you know, as part of the things that you do, you expect it to be able to make these sales, you expect it to be able to do these things, and you have not done them.

And I think that is extremely frustrating for me. as somebody who doesn't like to not get things done. I think when I looked at the leaderboards, I was like, hey, I could definitely be here or be there.

And the reality is that you're not anywhere near where you want to be on the leaderboard. You're not high up at all.

And I think it's very interesting because I think even without making a sale, you know, I'm within, you know, top 60 or so people, which tells you, and then I don't
know how many brokers there are.

But I want to say probably it's at least like a hundred plus. So if they're, if I'm, you know, halfway through that tells you that a lot of us are not doing really well.

So, you know, it's, it's kind of, you know, are these put their nbers in and things like that. So, It's it just makes you kind of look at it and say, OK, what can I do?

Because I don't want to continue to kind of be here. I want to continue to kind of change. You want to be a million-dollar broker and, you know, flip the switch towards getting towards that. And, you know, you just got to kind of continue to work through that and see what happens.

It's wild to me. That's wild to me to kind of see this there. So, you know, I take a lot of home on pie. You do this public struggle.

I think that one of the things around struggling is it brings people together, but you just start to see that, hey, maybe I'm not as good as I thought I was. But I think you want to have that confidence.

You want to have that mental part that you are as good as you thought you were. And you will overcome this.

And this is the mental part that any time you're going through any type of struggles, your mental will be the thing that takes the biggest hit.

So you want to keep that sharpened. You want to keep that good. And you want to continue to fight the good fight and do what you can do.

You got to get there. So that's where I'm at, is that this mental part, as I'm looking at the first, you know, 100 days or so left before the beginning, before it's an entire year.

And yeah, I'm just in this place where it's, wow, it's a lot, but I want to continue to get one step at a time, for sure. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

And of course, looking forward to giving you more and more updates.
