IAM2526 – Unveiling New Candidates in Zor

Special Episode by Gresham Harkless Jr.

A man smiles at the camera with a promotional banner for "Blue Star Branching: Unveiling New Candidates in Zor" and podcast episode details displayed beside him.

Gresham Harkless shares that his routine has been disrupted by a new late-night work schedule and the demands of parenting, which have cut into his mornings and limited his time and energy.

Despite the challenges, he's encouraged by progress with a standout candidate who is actively engaging and requesting introductions to more franchise concepts.

Gresham recognizes the importance of follow-up not just with candidates but also with franchise Zores, emphasizing the need for strong communication throughout the process to prevent leads from falling through the cracks.

Gresham remains optimistic and focused on refining his systems, nurturing strong leads, and adapting his workflow to maintain momentum during this season of change.

Intro 00:00

Are you ready to hear business stories and learn effective ways to build relationships, generate sales, and level up your business from awesome CEOs, entrepreneurs, and founders without listening to a long, long, long interview?

If so, you've come to the right place. Gresh values your time and is ready to share with you the valuable info you're in search of. This is the I AM CEO Podcast.

Gresham Harkless 00:29

Hello, hello, hello. This is Gresh from the I AM CEO Podcast. And this is a special episode of our I AM CEO Podcast.

And this is actually going to be a snippet of a snippet, so to speak. I'm just doing an intro because I've been starting to document my journey into starting what is now called Blue Star Franchise.

We're also going to do a kind of sub site within CB Nation called Franchise CEO. So you'll see some links in the show notes related to that.

But just wanted to give you a little bit more insight, give you a little bit more color in some of the aspects of why I'm actually doing this.

Because one of the things I was doing as I was going through training to start up this new business was realizing and hearing from the founder of FBA, the Franchise Brokers Association, that it'd be really cool to document your journey going through and building this out.

I think it's something that would be super helpful, obviously for people that are looking for and thinking about starting franchises.

But frankly, if you're starting anything, any type of business, I think it's really cool to kind of just even see the journey and how it's been going from there.

So I'm going to share a few of those snippets from the, from the first couple of videos that have been created.

But definitely, of course, subscribe to our YouTube, check out a lot more where I figure out exactly where we're going to post this.

So I'll have that information that's available to you. But regardless, if you're a builder, continue to keep building, continue to do your thing.

The world definitely needs exactly what you're trying to build and needs you to be your unique self.

So make sure to run your own race, because nobody can run your race like you.

This is Gresh signing out. I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day.

Just like that is day 196, I believe of the Franchise Broker Journey. Today, my day didn't record in the morning, my schedule is completely changing.

So I don't have as much time in the mornings actually, because I'm doing more of a late night shift.

So I'm not getting as much sleep. So I'm trying to catch up on a little bit more sleep in the morning than when I can, get extra hour or two.

And, just kind of ultimately going from there, it's been a challenge with a little one, just changing schedules.

Life going back to work honestly it's just been a lot of change in the last week or so week or two definitely.

[restrict paid=”true”]

But with that being said and you start I'm starting to feel it, but I'm shifting.

I think I want to do some of the recordings maybe a little bit later on.

The only thing is I had this as part of like my morning, so I'll probably try to do it right after I finish any type of workout.

So even if I do the workout a little bit later on in the morning, I'll probably try to finish up with doing this, but it's been a journey.

Nevertheless, it's been, some steps that I've had to take in order to get better.

I'm at everything that I'm doing, but I'm excited to say that we've had a candidate, continue to be introduced to the Zor.

She asked during our weekly to be introduced to two more, more concepts, which is awesome.

I think she's easily, probably the best candidate I've had. I had another really good candidate.

He went MIA. But, I know the consistency of these two candidates now. These are people that already have businesses and want to add on another business, a complimentary business.

So it's a lot more along the lines of the avatar that I think that I really want to hone in on.

And I think that depending on how this process goes these people are not necessarily looking for something in 60 days or tomorrow.

They're looking for something that's the right fit, over a long period of time. So being able to kind of focus on those will be super helpful.

I think definitely being able to have that as part of the podcast will be even more valuable.

So we'll just kind of see how everything goes and what that ultimately looks like.

But I'm definitely excited around these steps, excited around what that ultimately is going to look like.

I think that understanding the journey, understanding the steps, understanding what that looks like is going to be a really big thing.

I think I'm not going to lose hope as far as like checking in with the candidates that have quote-unquote ghosted me and may have disappeared.

But I'll continue to kind of check in with those, continue to do the calls and do all the things that I can do to try to make that happen.

But I think, again, just seeing and having the opportunity where you got a candidate through to this step is in and of itself a win.

Just because at this point now it's on the Franchise Zors to be able to guide them through their process, through their own process.

I think one of the things that I have noticed is sometimes you do have to even follow up with some of the Zore as well, too, to make sure that they're doing the things they're supposed to do.

And I think that is one of the interesting things that I've learned from this process that everything doesn't necessarily go according to plan.

Sometimes there's a lot of miscommunication, misunderstandings and things that happen during the process.

But that's why I definitely appreciate those Zors that really are communicative. They communicate a lot.

They're easy to get a hold of. They reach out to you, just things like that go a really long way.

Because what ends up happening is sometimes things can fall through the cracks because there's not that communication.

And I think even I have a candidate that kind of has fallen off and I didn't know that probably for the last like two or three weeks that the candidate maybe has fallen off, but I've gotten emails.

So I got emails. So I know that he was still talking, but then, there's some radio silence that happened.

So not sure exactly what happened with that candidate, but you kind of have the, when everybody's talking and communicating, you have a better idea of like what's happening. what that might look like.

But when no one's talking and communicating, sometimes things just fall off the fall off the map.

So unfortunately, that's happened a few times. But we have to see like, how this goes. I think this is really, again, great candidate.

It's an add-on venture. It would take some time to kind of get those things to happen because they're all required store preps and places and locations.

So we'll just have to see like what this ultimately looks like, where this goes, but I'm excited. Anytime you get closer, it's a good thing.

So but we have to get more and more people, more and more candidates, but I think I have a little bit more of a streamlined approach on how I want to do that.

So look forward to seeing how that happens, and then we'll to me kind of take it from there, but tired but still moving strong, and we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. And of course, looking forward to giving you more and more updates.
