IAM2393 – Capture the Essence of Thanksgiving Moments
Special Episode by Gresham Harkless Jr.
In this special episode, Gresham Harkless shares how he was reminded that when people pray or manifest things, the answers may not come in the way they expect.
Gresham emphasizes the importance of being open to God's answers, even if they don’t align with one's expectations or desired methods.
He discusses his entrepreneurial journey, particularly in the franchise world, and how he’s learning to focus on the “why” of his goals rather than the “how.”
Moreover, Gresham is excited about the progress he’s made and remains committed to continuing his journey, without giving up.

Gresham Harkless 00:29
Hello, hello, hello. This is Gresh from the I AM CEO Podcast. And this is a special episode of our I AM CEO Podcast.
And this is actually going to be a snippet of a snippet, so to speak. I'm just doing an intro because I've been starting to document my journey into starting what is now called Blue Star Franchise.
We're also going to do a kind of sub-site within CB Nation called Franchise CEO. So you'll see some links in the show notes related to that.
But just wanted to give you a little bit more insight, give you a little bit more color in some of the aspects of why I'm actually doing this.
Because one of the things I was doing as I was going through training to start up this new business was realizing and hearing from the founder of FBA, the Franchise Brokers Association, that it'd be really cool to document your journey going through and building this out.
I think it's something that would be super helpful, obviously for people that are looking for and thinking about starting franchises.
But frankly, if you're starting anything, any type of business, I think it's really cool to kind of just even see the journey and how it's been going from there.
So I'm going to share a few of those snippets from the, from the first couple of videos that have been created.
But definitely, of course, subscribe to our YouTube, check out a lot more where I figure out exactly where we're going to post this.
So I'll have that information that's available to you. But regardless, if you're a builder, continue to keep building, continue to do your thing.
The world definitely needs exactly what you're trying to build and needs you to be your unique self.
So make sure to run your own race, because nobody can run your race like you. This is Gresh signing out. I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day.
Hello, hello, hello. This is Gresh here and I'm super appreciative just to get the opportunity to kind of do these recordings, to have these businesses.
I was actually listening to a TD Jake's sermon earlier today and it really resonated with me. It was like three years ago, I believe it had to be like during a time, probably about 2021, I think, where we were starting to inch out towards getting back to quote-unquote normal, where people were starting to kind of try to be around each other.

But they were still like socially distanced a lot more. But one of the things that really came up for me is that so often we're often, you know, asking God for things and we might pray on it.
So people might say they're trying to manifest their speaking words into reality, whatever it might be, visualization.
The point that I really want to get home more than anything else is that sometimes the things that we ask for don't necessarily come in the way that we expect.
And the actual sermon was recognizing God's answers. And it really stuck with me because I feel like I'm going through this season where there's a lot that's kind of like at my fingertips.
I feel like I'm knocking on the door for a lot of things, but those things only happen if you, sometimes you pray for those things, you ask for those things and you're open to how it comes and it may, maybe not coming in the way that you thought it would come.
So while going through this franchise journey, if you're thinking about, going through something like this, or you're starting your business, just be open to the why rather than the how.
And when you're going through the why rather than the how, you understand that things don't always go in the way that you ultimately think that they're going to go.
So you have to evolve and change and just kind of move from there. We're attached to that why, that the how's gonna adjust and change and the God's answers, the way that things manifest themselves is gonna evolve and change.
So that's just something we kind of have to be open to. So with that being said, I'm super appreciative and grateful and thankful for so much.
I'm truly, my cup definitely overflows. And I think it's something that I'm super excited about is just to kind of continue to kind of do the things that I need to do.
And I feel like I'm very close to where I exactly where I want to be, but I continue to kind of do that work and not throw in the towel.
So with that being said, this is Gresh signing out. Hope you have a phenomenal holiday. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. And of course, looking forward to giving you more and more updates.
