Christel Wekon-Kemeni, also known as "Dr. Dub", is currently a Pediatric Resident Physician at the University of North Carolina Children's Hospital who is also the creator of the Black Man, M.D. blog, a blog designed to not only inspire those who are thinking about entering the field of healthcare but also to crush the negative stereotypes that members of minority communities face on a regular basis. Christel was born in Boston, MA, raised in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Miami, and earned his medical degree from the Wake Forest School of Medicine. He started the Black Man, M.D. blog shortly before starting medical school and has since then not only continued to share his ongoing story with his readers on a consistent basis, but has also highlighted other minority students and professionals in the healthcare field, has shared useful and practical advice as well as positive energy with the readers, and has even used his platform to start a scholarship program for high school students!
Dr. Bindiya Gandhi is double boarded by the American Board Family Medicine as well as the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Physicians. She completed her family medicine training from Georgia Regents University/Medical College of Georgia June 2014. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Georgia with Bachelors of Science in Biology and Psychology in 2004 and her Doctor of Medicine at American University of Antigua College of Medicine in 2010. She completed an Integrative medicine fellowship at the University of Arizona with Dr. Andrew Weil in 2016. She also completed Functional Medicine Training with the Institute of Functional Medicine in 2017.
Dr. Berry Pierre is founder of drberrypierre.com, CEO of Pierre Medical Consulting and a Board Certified Internist who host the weekly podcast the Lunch and Learn with Dr. Berry and the video series Empower Yourself For Better Health. As a physician he realized that this passion was helping others live the best & healthy lives they could but understood that his one to one interactions with patients in the office wasn't going to be enough. Its why he stepped out the clinical walls to bring the masses the health information they need to live their best lives.
In 2014 Dr. Darrien Jamar obeyed a spiritual call to begin Chiropractic school in Marietta, Georgia. For the optics and sake of seeming sane, Dr. Darrien explained to family and friends that this was always an unspoken dream, but truthfully—it was the answer to a desperate cry for inner healing. Today, Dr. Darrien is a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic and an Integrative Life Coach with a Masters in Positive Psychology and extensive Reiki training here in the DMV—all of which informs his unique approach to life, well-being, and healing.
