IAM2839 – The Importance of Accessibility to Expand Business Opportunity
Special Episode by Gresham Harkless Jr.

Value Alone Isn't Enough
Many builders create services that are undeniably valuable, yet they struggle with low adoption rates. The reality is that value is only half of the equation; if your solution is difficult to access due to time constraints, location barriers, or busy schedules, people simply won't use it. In this episode, inspired by a conversation with Eleanor from the I Am CEO Podcast, we explore how accessibility acts as the primary driver for engagement.
Accessibility as a Growth Lever
When you make it simple and easy for people to take action, they are far more likely to lean into your solution to get the results they want. Accessibility isn't just a feature—it’s what drives regular usage and creates the “stickiness” that every product needs to survive.
By removing the hurdles to engagement, you allow your audience to fully realize the impact your product can have on their lives.
Engineering Easy Adoption
The core takeaway for any CEO is found within the “Offering and Product Pillar”: success isn't just about creating the product; it’s about ensuring people can actually consume and engage with it easily. Your “widget” must solve a problem in a way that fits seamlessly into the user's life. Ask yourself: “How could I make what I offer easier to access or to use today?”. That single shift in perspective can unlock tremendous growth.

Here's the real takeaway. Convenience expands impact. Often, as builders and entrepreneurs and business owners, we get so stuck into the nuts and bolts of the things that we're doing, but not realizing how important it is to make sure it is simple and easy to be able to adopt and accessible to those people. The easier it is, the more accessible it is, the more likely people are to use it and understand and realize exactly what impact this is going to have.
If you're building something meaningful, you're in the right place. This is the I Am CEO Podcast. I'm gresh, and for over a decade I've had the honor and the privilege of Learning directly from CEOs, entrepreneurs and business owners just like you on how to build. After recording more than 1600 episodes, one thing has become clear. Success isn't about following someone else's blueprint. And as I like to say on the show, if you run your own race, you can't lose, even when you feel the journey should be a straight and linear path. What I've come to find out is success is a lot more like a plate of spaghetti. So in this special segment and episode, I'm starting to curate and share some CEO hacks and CEO nuggets that I've been dying to share. Drawn from thousands of episodes with phenomenal guests that have provided awesome value on the show, but also my 10 years of business experience as well too. These lessons are designed to strengthen the foundational principles that every business is built on and guided by a simple equation that we always go back to with our content. Visibility plus resources times connections equals success. This is practical wisdom you can apply almost immediately, so be sure to check out the show notes for more resources and next steps on how to level up. And of course, enjoy this special episode of the I Am CEO Podcast.

Many services are valuable, but they're not always accessible. Think about it. There is time constraints, there's location barriers, there's busy schedules. All these are real things. In episode number 49 of the I Am CEO Podcast, I spoke with Elnor. She's an entrepreneur creating a platform that offers yoga on the go. What really stood out to me was how accessibility increases the likelihood of adoption. When something becomes easier to access, more people feel engaged. Why is that? Because if you make it simple and easy for people to be able to take the action that will help them get the results that they want, they're going to lean into that. And that accessibility can come in many different ways. For builders, this is a key opportunity. Why? Let me tell you, value alone isn't enough accessibility drives that usage. Because if you make it easier for people to use whatever it is that you have, your products or service, whatever it is, your widget, then they're going to be more likely to use it on a regular basis. And that's going to drive the usage, drive the engagement, drive the opportunity and the stickiness of the product or service that you have. Here's the real takeaway Convenience expands impact. Often as builders and entrepreneurs and business owners, we get so stuck into the nuts and bolts of the things that we're doing, but not realizing how important it is to make sure it is simple and easy to be able to adopt and accessible to those people. The easier it is, the more accessible it is, the more likely people are to use it and understand and realize exactly what impact this is going to have. When people can engage easily, results improve. This is is a perfect, perfect connection with the offering and product pillar. The thing that you're doing and creating needs to be accessible. It's not just around creating the product. It's making sure that people can consume or they can engage with or do whatever you need or define as success for that product. But it also has to tie very much so into how it's solving a problem for them. Here's something worth asking how could I make what I offer easier to access or to use? That shift is in perspective and understanding can unlock tremendous growth. This episode explores accessibility, wellness and how convenience drives engagement.
