Andrea Lowell Teaser 00:00
Self-mastery really is relentless self-honesty. It's self-knowledge. It's knowing who I am, why I am pushing through anything that is not mine, like societal programming, generational trauma, maybe some abuse that I suffered. We don't ever diminish it or say it's not real, but we don't dwell there. We face everything and we rise and we go forward.
Intro 00:25
Do you want to learn effective ways to build relationships, generate sales, and grow your business from successful entrepreneurs, startups, and CEOs without listening to a long, long, long interview?
If so, you've come to the right place. Gresham Harkness values your time and is ready to share with you precisely the information you're in search of. This is the I Am CEO podcast.
Gresham Harkless 00:52
Hello, hello, hello. This is Gresh from the I Am CEO podcast, and I appreciate you listening to this episode. If you've been listening this year, you know that we hit 1600 episodes at the beginning of this year.
And we're doing something a little bit different where we're repurposing our favorite episodes around certain categories, topics or as I like to call them, business pillars that we think are going to be extremely impactful for CEOs, entrepreneurs, and business owners, or what I like to call CB nation architects who are looking to level up their organizations.
This month we are focused on innovation, disruption, women entrepreneurship, DEI, gig economy, remote economy, even the cannabis industry. Think about these industries and these disruptive technologies that really sometimes aren't as disruptive, but there's people that are just paying attention to what the market needs and they're providing that.
So really think about the things that are quote-unquote outside of the norm, but really help entrepreneurship to grow and fully develop. I think it's an extremely exciting time when you're talking about any type of innovation or disruption, because I think that there's so many opportunities and needs that aren't felt that are starting to be filled by different groups, different organizations, or even different industries.
So what I want you to do is sit back and enjoy this special episode of the I Am CEO podcast.
Hello, hello, hello. This is Gresh from the I am. I have a very special guest on the show today. I have Andrea Lowell of the I Am Everything Project. Andrea, super excited to have you on the show.
Andrea Lowell 02:17
It is such a pleasure to be here. I cannot wait to see what kind of conversation we get into.
Gresham Harkless 02:22
Yes, absolutely. I know you're doing so many phenomenal things. I know it will be a very impactful and awesome conversation. But of course, before we jumped into that, I want to read a little bit more about Andrea so you can hear about some of those awesome things.
And Andrea is a former TV and radio host for the Playboy Morning Show, number two on the SiriusXM charts. She quit her successful hosting job to pursue a higher calling after feeling miserable and bored for far too long. Taking a leap of faith, she is now a Self Mastery Guide in the creator of the I Am Everything Project and her signature Self Mastery Mentorship Program.
Andrea's practical methods of spirituality and self-healing are profoundly life-altering and always straightforward and sustainable. She guarantees bliss to those who follow her loving and simple suggestions.
Andrea, excited again to have you on the show even more excited about all the awesome things that you're doing. Are you ready to speak to the I Am CEO community?
Andrea Lowell 03:14
I am so ready. And I love the fact that it's I Am CEO because I Am is like my everything. So I'm so excited to be here.
[restrict paid=”true”]
Gresham Harkless 03:23
I'm excited to be here too. And I'm so excited that you know that obviously I could tell that by your organization and all the other things you're doing.
I am with some of the most powerful words you could say because everything that follows after that is often what you are. So Love it, love it, love it. So I guess to kick everything off, I know I touched on it a little bit but I wanted to rewind the clock here a little bit more on how you got started, what I call your CEO story.
Andrea Lowell 03:43
Right on. So yeah, as you mentioned, I started out in entertainment and on paper I had it all. Gresham, I had the car, the house, the everything. But I was miserable and it took me realizing that I was out of alignment and I was putting my talents and my interests and my passions into the wrong arena, into this, vapid Hollywood industry where really my soul was like, you're here to serve, you're here to help other people.
So of course I was miserable. I was not following my true path. And I'd been involved in the wellness industry for years and certified nutritionist and personal trainer. And 1 of my clients was like. You give me more like self-help training and more self-mastery and wisdom of the ages and, all these things that take her to further levels with her business and self-improvement than anything to do with wellness.
She's yeah, I've lost a few pounds, but really am here for the free therapy. And she goes, why don't you put this into a program. Why don't you parlay this into another facet of your business? And as soon as she said that it resonated with my soul, like nothing I'd ever heard from anyone before.
It was like a resounding yes. And I said, you know what? You just gave me the best advice ever. I'm going to follow up on that. I'm going to follow through. And it took me about three months of dedicated hard work from rising to retiring in the day of just full at the computer building, building, building, creating, doing videos, doing this to create the I Am Everything Project.
And instead of it becoming a facet of what I do, it's now become my full-on passion and purpose and the client who suggested it to me is still a client and I am over the moon with how my story has developed and how I'm able to listen to the signs and take that guidance and really know what feels right and what I should lean into because I am so happy and especially when I think of that contrast of where I was in Hollywood and how miserable I was and how just overjoyed I am today. It's there's nothing better.
Gresham Harkless 06:00
Yeah, absolutely. I imagine that probably makes it even more gratifying and fulfilling to be able to do all the things you're doing now.
Andrea Lowell 06:07
1000% some say you can't know the light unless you've seen the dark. And it's so true. And now that I've had a pure real taste of both. I refuse to give the light away.
I'm no longer, going to even waste my time, dipping my toe in the dark. And also my self-worth has increased where I'm not going to tolerate anything that is not at that higher vibration, that higher resonance. So that's what's up.
Gresham Harkless 06:34
Yeah, absolutely. So I wanted to draw down a little bit more here on that serving your impact. How are you working with clients and tell me a little bit of everything that you're doing with the I Am Everything Project.
Andrea Lowell 06:44
Absolutely. So, yeah, I am a self mastery coach and more so on mental, I hold my client's hand. So I offer one on one private mentorship program that's to be two months or one year long and that's where I take you through everything about my project course.
And it's almost like therapy sessions. No two people have the same problems, blocks, limitations, careers, life. So I can't just put into an online course and expect to get the same results than customized suggestions. And so that's what I'm here to do really be their champion, hold their hand and let them know that there's nothing that you cannot get through. So I do that as well as virtual workshops that are more attainable for everyone. It's usually free.
I also do little bite-size video nuggets of gold on Instagram where I'm doing videos and I also host retreats. So that's what I'm doing and I'm loving every bit of it.
Gresham Harkless 07:41
Nice. I absolutely love that. And it sounds like you're definitely meeting people where they are. And I just really love the south self-mastery coach just because I'm sure you probably feel somewhat of the same way where we sometimes can be our own blocks and we can get in our own ways.
But once you start to be able to understand, first of all, that light that you have that we talked about, but also be able to harness that light to do and make that impact. And the world is yours.
Andrea Lowell 08:04
1000%. And self-mastery really is relentless self honesty. It's self-knowledge. It's knowing who I am, why I am pushing through anything that is not mine, like societal programming, generational trauma, maybe some abuse that I suffered. We don't ever diminish it or say it's not real, but we don't dwell there.
We face everything, and we rise and we go forward. So that if, let's say a characteristic or limiting belief pops back up, I know exactly where it stemmed from.
So I don't have to be a victim to it. I can say, oh no, this behavior's is cause of that, already looked at that, already saw the underlying fear, the core wound, la di da, we're not playing that game. So it really is that radical self-awareness and self-honesty that sets the self-mastered apart from your everyday person.
Gresham Harkless 08:54
Yeah, absolutely. So do you feel like you have this ability to be able to obviously live and go through your journey, but also be able to share the keys or the tools or the ability for people to be able to unlock your light? So do you think that's part of your secret sauce?
Andrea Lowell 09:07
Oh, 1000%. But I'll tell you what my true secret sauce is.
Gresham Harkless 09:11
Oh, yes. I'm excited.
Andrea Lowell 09:12
I focus on spirituality. You don't have to be religious to be spiritual, or you don't have to, have a super crazy, like fervent belief. But what we have to do is just start connecting with something. It could be nature, it could be, Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad. It could anything.
As long as it's not what's going on between my ears, as long as it's not my brain, because if I'm in some sort of problem and I can't seem to get out of it, why do I think that the same mindset or thought process that created the problem and it's stuck there is going to be able to get me out of it.
So what I do is I take all this self-knowledge and ancient wisdom and all these things. I even throw a little quantum theory into my teachings, but I… Push it to the point of you're never alone. You always have a higher power source guiding you. We just have to tap into that. And that's really what sets me and my clients apart.
Gresham Harkless 10:07
Awesome. So I wanted to switch gears a little bit and ask you for what I call a CEO hack. So this could be like an Apple book or a habit that you have, but what's something that makes you more effective and efficient.
Andrea Lowell 10:18
I'm going to tell you, I keep it old school. Oh, gee, Post-it are my CEO hack.
Gresham Harkless 10:25
Love it.
Andrea Lowell 10:26
I'm not at my main computer right now, I'm at my laptop, but at my main computer, I have Post-it all around it, but my favorite one says I'm operating from my highest, serving the highest. And again, it's that I am in big capital letters. I am operating from my highest. Serving the highest and I will have rotating post-it that go around, but really the things on my computer are to keep me balanced and remind me why I am doing what I am doing.
I set my intention each day as how can I serve? How can I show up and serve not what's in it for me or how much can I get done today? I don't operate from that lower self, that ego, that lack. I literally sit down and say, How can I show up for the collective today? How can I show up and serve?
And my little post it, they remind me, because when you're working fervently, typing emails, doing the thing, we can get really hectic and harried to the point where we're forgetting to eat.
We're not doing all the things that we need to be doing as big bosses and CEOs to really inspire and help other people. So I have to remind myself with my post-it.
Gresham Harkless 11:35
Nice. I absolutely love that. And, I love the OGness of the posting notes because I read something that a lot of times when we write down our goals, our intentions, as you said, so well, even if we're not directly looking at it, but we have them up.
They still have a huge influence on our day, our life or weeks or our life as a whole. So it's so important to be very cognizant of those intentions that you have. And I love the idea of actually putting them out there in a post it notes because we'll see him even when we think that we don't see them.
Andrea Lowell 12:03
That's right. That's right.
Gresham Harkless 12:06
Nice. So what would you consider to be what I like to call a CEO nugget? So this is a little bit more word of wisdom or a piece of advice. I like to say it might be something you would tell your favorite client, or if you happen to a time machine, you might tell your younger business self.
Andrea Lowell 12:19
Oh, wow. My younger self don't take anything personally. It is business. Like literally what anyone's reaction is. To what I'm saying, what I'm doing a proposal, their reaction has nothing to do with me. It's their reaction. Nothing is personal. All I can do is stay in my own lane, do my best, suit up and show up every day.
Also, don't be afraid to invest in yourself. Oh my gosh, I used to be in such a lack consciousness, even though I was financially abundant. I would not want to invest in my, self-growth. I'd invest in the hair, the massage, the nail, all the stuff that didn't matter. Don't be afraid to invest in what does matter.
And I think my last piece of advice, if I could go into a time machine or talk to other CEOs in training or CEOs in power right now, your authenticity is your superpower. Stop emulating everyone else. It's okay to be inspired by people, but don't emulate others. Really, truly, your unique voice is where your secret sauce resides.
Gresham Harkless 13:26
Yeah, absolutely. I would definitely echo that. And there's that quote that, be yourself because everybody else is already taken is so powerful. And I think when you lean into that, but better yet, like you said, so well, you really have that be your armor, your superpower, your genius, your secret sauce.
It really allows you to truly, I think, do things in a way that nobody else can do that because nobody else is you. And I think that's just, you're so powerful. I also love that, the investment piece as well too, because it really brings me back to what you talked about and understanding your work.
So now I want to ask you my absolute favorite question, which is the definition of what it means to be a CEO, or hoping to have different quote-unquote CEOs on the show. So Andrea, what does being a CEO mean to you?
Andrea Lowell 14:05
Being a CEO means I'm here to inspire others to their greatness. I'm here to guide them. I'm here to allow people to learn from my mistakes so they don't have to repeat them.
Also, a CEO is courageous. It's okay if I mess up as long as I learn from it. So I'm not afraid to make mistakes. I don't feign perfection. And truly how I do that is through humility. So I think that a real powerful CEO, in my opinion, has to be humble, has to be fearless and has to set their intention to inspire and guide others.
And that's what keeps me happy and successful.
Gresham Harkless 14:43
Awesome. Truly appreciate that definition. Of course, I appreciate your time even more. So what I want to do now is pass you the mic, so to speak, just to see if there's anything additional that you can let our readers and listeners know.
And of course, how best people can get out of you find about all the awesome things that you're working on.
Andrea Lowell 14:58
There's nothing more important than being ruthlessly self-aware and self-honest with yourself. Whoever's listening, know that you are your own medicine. You are your own superpower. You are your own CEO.
And yeah, if you'd like to learn more from me, you can follow me on Instagram at the I Am Everything Project. And also my website is andrealowell.com, but at the I Am Everything Project, you'll find a link tree and there, it has a bunch of my freebies. Like right now I'm thinking the authenticity guide that I have up.
It's called Beautiful. Be You Until Full is I'm on my link tree where people can really tap into their most authentic self with a free guide that I created. I also have an unlocking your purpose guide and raise your vibration guide and also in my link tree and my bios where people can book one on one sessions with me or mentorship programs through the I Am Everything Project.
So, I just want to fully empower. everyone to be the highest, purest version of themself. And it's such an honor to be here. Gresham, thank you so much for having me.
Gresham Harkless 16:01
Absolutely the honor is all ours. And I truly appreciate everything you know that you're doing. Of course, we're gonna have the links and information in the show notes as well, too, so that everybody can follow up with you. Find about all those awesome things, and I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day.
