01:33 – Armineh Keshishian

Yes, absolutely. Wow, that's wonderful.

01:35 – Gresham Harkless

Yes, well let's do it then. You're doing so many phenomenal things, so what I wanted to do to kick everything off was just kind of rewind the clock a little bit. Hear a little bit more on how you got started, what I call your CEO story.

01:46 – Armineh Keshishian

My CEO story: it was a long journey. I started in the financial planning and wealth management business in my 20s. I absolutely loved it. It was a male-dominated industry. And I really, really love helping people build wealth and secure their financial future. Over the years, my clients have always confided in me about their lives. They didn't just share information about their finances, but also about their feelings, their children, their parents, and how life was for them. And I became a coach while I was taking care of their money.

And after about over 25 years of doing that, I transitioned to wealth and wellness coaching, because money by itself, it's not enough. I mean, we all love money, we want money, not the love of money that we forget everything else, but to have a comfortable and beautiful life. But there's much more to life than just having money. And so I transitioned to wealth and wellness global, and I gave up all my licenses, but I kept my designations, financial and psychology designations, and I made it global because I like to serve the world if I can.

Because when you're in finance, you have to be licensed in your province or your state or even in the country. But it can only go so far. And I love it because it's more of a holistic approach which is based on my four-corner stone philosophy of physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual mental slash mental.

03:30 – Gresham Harkless

Yeah, well, I appreciate you sharing that so much and you know, hearing your journey and how you arrived at all the awesome things that you're doing. And I say, and one of the reasons I was excited, you know, to have you on the show and get the opportunity to hear your story and what you're doing, because I think so many times we don't realize that holistic part of the money, that holistic part of the wealth of all those different aspects. And I say often we forget about that human aspect of many aspects of life, but I imagine especially money as well.

03:55 – Armineh Keshishian

Yes, yes, absolutely. Because you don't, not everyone is looking to just have millions and millions of dollars. I mean, when I started, there were people who just wanted to pay off their debt. I mean, eventually, I was dealing with multimillionaires and taking care of their portfolios, but it's a journey. So sometimes people just want to have enough money for their children's education or pay off their mortgage on time so that they can retire. And in North America, the emphasis is all about money. I mean, money is a universal language, right?

All over the world, we want it because we want to be comfortable. But I think sometimes it's exaggerated because we just want to make that million dollars a year or 5000000 dollars a year. My question is why? Do you really need 5000000 dollars where your nerves are always on fire? You always wake up at 04:00 or 05:00 and stay up until 2 a.m. Are you happy? If you are, that's fine. If not, then maybe we can scale back and say, okay, what do I need? How much do I need? And why do I need it? And then we go from there. That's my way of living. And that's what I believe in because it incorporates abundance, then becomes an abundant life instead of just having $50 million and you're miserable.

05:16 – Gresham Harkless

I appreciate you doing so. Is that a little of like how you work with your clients in terms of like figuring out, you know, some of those things and having those conversations and coaching through that?

05:24 – Armineh Keshishian

Yes, absolutely. When I was doing financial consulting, of course, it would look at their portfolios and all that, but most of the time I found that clients would just confide and we would end up talking and I wasn't charging for that. They were my clients and I love people. I love these kinds of discussions because it's one one-on-one. And it's so funny, I told one of my clients not too long ago that the reason I was in the financial planning business, is because it's a very intimate relationship. It's very close, you get to know that person. And well, the way I worked, there are a lot of financial planners, it's just numbers and numbers.

I mean, I was never like that. That's not my personality. So in the coaching business that I do right now, I have actually 4 different programs and they're either one day or 2 days. Also, we do retreats, but right now due to COVID, it's on hold. But when I do one-on-one, we dive deep into all this and we find out. And one of my questions is what do you want in life? What are your short-term, medium-term and long-term goals? And the financial end was always about the money. So how much would you like to have a net worth in say 5 years, 10 years, or when you're retired or now? But when it comes to a general holistic approach, just tell me about your life.

What is it you want? You say, okay, I want to have money. I want to have a net worth of $2 million, $1 million. I mean, it's exaggerated. Very few people make millions and millions every year and they have hundreds of millions of dollars. Let's simplify it to an average lifestyle. And then we say, okay, what else is happening? Sometimes people experience relationship issues with their spouse, partner, girlfriend, or boyfriend. And then we look into that. Sometimes their childhood traumas, as you mentioned, from before that, are driving their lives. So whatever is when it's private coaching, we dive into this. I love to study human behavior.

I have studied all my life and I have a designation, but it's just my passion to know what drives you. Please keep in mind the following text: And also the alignment of body, mind, and spirit that we discussed. I mean, our mind is always active, but how can we find peace and tune into our spirit to follow our passion and purpose?

07:46 – Gresham Harkless

Yeah, that's so huge. And I appreciate you breaking down each of those and telling us how you work with those clients because I think so many times we don't realize the holistic nature of the decisions that we make and the things that we do or sometimes that we're not even doing as well too. So absolutely appreciate that. And so I want to ask you now for what I call your secret sauce. This could be for yourself or the business or a combination of both. But what do you feel kind of sets you apart and makes you unique?

08:10 – Armineh Keshishian

Well, let me share with you my 3D concept, which is number one is desire, number 2 is determination, And number 3 is dedication.

08:22 – Gresham Harkless

That's absolutely, you know, powerful. And so I wanted to switch gears a little bit. And I want to ask you for what I call a CEO hack. So this could be like an Apple book or a habit that you have or even something from your book, but what's something you feel makes you more effective and efficient?

08:35 – Armineh Keshishian

One thing that I believe in, is that we have 3 times more impact than we think we have. This is a universal phenomenon. Not very many people know this is a secret. Let's say a universal secret. So we have 3 times more impact than we think we have. To actually be cognizant of that, it's good because it gives us a feeling that we matter, we're important. And so the hack that I always remember is that to show up, I mean, we've all heard of this, but to be present and to participate in life.

So if you want your business to be scaling or to go to the next level or you want your relationship to go to the next level you have to have a good solid relationship to also excel in business. You cannot have your family life go down the tubes and then all of a sudden you're making lots of money and your business is thriving. It could happen. But if that happened, your family life is gone, more or less.

So to be present, to just get up. If you exercise, you just keep doing your exercises, be consistent. That's the key. Yes, consistent was the word I was looking for. Because consistent with if you're exercising, just keep at it. If you're meditating, just keep at it. If you miss a day or 2 here and there, it's not a big deal. And just keep doing it, be consistent.

10:05 – Gresham Harkless

I want to ask you now for what I call a CEO nugget. This could be something I'd love to hear from your book and all the awesome things you're talking about there, but it might be a piece of advice that we can find there or something you might even tell a client as well.

10:18 – Armineh Keshishian

When you're in alignment with your body, when your body, mind, and spirit are in alignment, miracles happen.

10:23 – Gresham Harkless

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. So I want to ask you now my absolute favorite question, which is the definition of what it means to be a CEO. And we're hoping to have different quote-unquote CEOs on the show. So Armin, what does being a CEO mean to you?

10:35 – Armineh Keshishian

Well, to me CEO means you're in charge, not in control. You're in charge and you're in charge and you're the leader. A leader is someone who leads with courage and is the one who goes first. Just like in the military, the leader always goes first because they believe in the cause, are passionate, and are willing to do what it takes. They might not, they may not have all the answers, but they think they can do it. So once you come from that place of confidence, then everyone will want to work with you and be part of your team.

Also when you're the CEO or the person in charge of your team or in charge of anything for that matter, it's very important to appreciate everyone's opinions and ideas. You may not implement them, but it's good that people feel they belong. That sense of belonging is absolutely important. And it's excellent for bigger companies where some employees feel disconnected, totally disconnected, or they're afraid to speak because their ideas are either ridiculed or not paid attention to.

I think everyone has something valuable to offer and it's very important to get to know them. I mean, having a one-hour discussion with someone can provide a lot of ideas, information, and insight about that person. And that's what I believe in. I think it's important to have a team. I don't want to just, for example, delegate some things, I just take care of this. And I don't know who they are, what they are. I wanna know who they are. I want to understand their beliefs, goals, and aspirations.

Sometimes you will find that people are taking jobs that they just want the money, they're not happy. And in that case, you say, okay, I know you just want the money, so let's work together. You could go work somewhere else and then you can refer someone who would love to do what you're doing. So communication is key. That's, I think that's what it boils down to. So a leader who can communicate well is courageous, takes charge, goes first, and is inspired. That's my definition.

12:52 – Gresham Harkless

Armin, I truly appreciate that definition and I appreciate your time even more. What I wanted to do is just pass you the mic, so to speak, just to see if there's anything additional that you can let our readers and listeners know and of course how best they can get a hold of you, get a copy of your book and find out about all the awesome things you're working on?

13:08 – Armineh Keshishian

Well my book Joyous Wealth 56 Secrets to Riches and Wellness, it's actually a novel the way it's been written. So it's a creative non-fiction. It has 9 chapters and it has a prologue and an epilogue. So the story begins with 5 women from diverse backgrounds, spanning from someone with limited financial means to a billionaire, coming together to share their life experiences, challenges, and aspirations.

As the narrator and author, I discuss various topics such as money, legacy, empowerment, overcoming fear, and taking care of yourself emotionally, physically, and mentally, including wellness. It's a very easy read, but it needs focus. It also comes with a workbook that you can journal your thoughts. And you can go to my website, wealthandwellnessglobal.com.

The book is actually available on Amazon and I did win an award for it and it is a best seller. And if you would like a signed copy, you can order it through our website, wealthandwellnessglobal.com. I offer four courses. The first course is about creating and building wealth. Number 2 is how to create your desired life. Desiring a fulfilling life may involve wealth, but not necessarily monetary wealth. Number 3 is how to be in alignment with your divine self and have more peace of mind. And number 4 how to create success habits.

The one-day and two-day retreats are currently postponed. And we have new courses in September, towards the end of September again, they're starting. And my final thought would be, ‘Follow your heart'. Do what gives you inspiration, gives you passion. Live your life. I mean, we are always doing things. It's good to do things, but it's also important to be quiet, to sit quietly, and reflect, just like I love the water. Some people like the mountains, some people like the trees. Just be wherever your sanctuary is and just relax, and connect with the earth. I mean, we are here. I mean, we are given a life. We've got to make the most of it.

15:31 – Gresham Harkless

Yes. Right? Absolutely. I definitely echo that. We will definitely have the links and information in the show notes for your books, courses, and all the awesome things that you're working on as well to make it even easier for people to get a hold of you. I love that last final you know piece about, you know, being in a course being, you know, true to yourself, staying true to your passions and things that I even believe that we have as gifts and leaning into those.

And I think once we do that, then really phenomenal things can happen. So I appreciate you for embodying that and symbolizing that and of course, doing that in your life and in your business as well too. Appreciate you again for taking time out and I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day.

And my final thought would be, 'Follow your heart'.

Yes. Right?
