This episode was originally going to feature Rob Pitinglolo of Trip Hacks DC. Honestly, it was one of my favorite interviews and hopefully, it will air later this year. Even though I've been around the DMV area, I hadn't really explored as much and was looking forward to this episode to air so that everyone (myself included) could hear about all the ways that Rob served the area. However, due to Covid-19, the coronavirus, Rob reached out to me asking if I could delay the release of his episode. Like many small business owners especially in the travel, hospitality, restaurant and many other industries, Covid-19 has decimated businesses. I wanted to devote this episode to the small business owners that are sometimes overlooked. Rob said that Year to Date revenue for his business will be down 60% by the end of March and 90% by the end of April.
During this time when some small businesses aren't open, please support them by buying gift cards, sharing and engaging with them on social media, liking their pages, giving them reviews and if you aren't sure how to support them, just ask.
For small business owners, entrepreneurs and CEOs, remember that tough times don't last, tough people, do. Try to stay positive and continue to pay attention to what you are putting into your mind. Remember, you are not alone and always when in doubt, reach out–even to us. One of the ways we try to help is to showcase and hopefully provide visibility and resources to CEOS, entrepreneurs and business owners.
