[restrict paid=”true”]

Teo Branzell 1:16

Yes, I am.

Gresham Harkless 1:17

Awesome. Let's do it. So to kick everything off, I wanted to hear a little bit more about what I call your CEO story. And what made you get started with your business?

Teo Branzell 1:26

It is basically what made me start my business was as I as you said in the introduction. There, I started to coach and help other people and decided to Hey, what can I start to take you to get paid for this? And so I said, Hey,  I want to coach a few people for free to get some results. Then, from there, I helped a lot of people worldwide both men, women, married people, and so on, and helped them improve their lives and coaching triathletes, and entrepreneurs, and now and then I started to charge money for it.

Gresham Harkless 2:21

Nice. Well, I definitely appreciate that. And you find something that you know you're able to do and do that naturally. And then you say, Hey, let me create a business around that. And you started to do that. So I appreciate anybody who has that entrepreneurial itch, and then actually scratches that itch and creates something. So I know you touched on it a little bit. And I know I touched on it in the bio as well, too. I wanted to hear a little bit more about how you work with clients. Can you take us through that? And tell us the different ways that they can work with you as well.

Teo Branzell 2:46

Yeah, so what how are basically you doing my coaching? It's pretty simple. My, what I want to know is, what do you think your problem is, for some people, they want to lose weight for other people, they want to improve their sleep. And then we basically dig in together on that subject. Let's say you wouldn't like to lose a few pounds, or maybe a lot of weight. So what we basically do when we first go over your nutrition and exercise, is to see if there are some minor changes, minor or small changes we can make to that. I believe if there are small changes, they are both real changes and that you also can sustain them for the rest of your life.

So as small changes as you can do to your exercise and your nutrition. After that, I will let you go off on your own with the tips and tricks I gave you during that coaching session to see if are you getting results from it. Are you getting it? Is it basically working for you? And after that, we go into more details. Like here, how you sleep, how you're breathing? Do you have to take care of some mental issues, maybe you have to go see a psychiatrist or something like that because sometimes there are issues that lie deep, deep inside inside of you. That prevents you from reaching your goal health-wise.

So I give my suggestions to you. And then I let you go out and basically explore your own health and your own body. Because to be honest, I am not you so I don't really know you, and you are the only one who truly knows you, if that makes sense? Because, to be honest, I'm not going to stick around your life forever. So I'm going to give you all the tools necessary for your life and your health to be successful. That's pretty much it.

Gresham Harkless 5:22

Okay, perfect. Well, no, that makes absolute sense. Because I think a lot of times, I've always had the phrase that you know, you are your best actor a lot of times, and you know, what you can do, but a lot of times people aren't armed with the tools, the idea or the knowledge, even how to do that. And I appreciate you for kind of not just, you know, giving people information, but kind of empowering them, so that they're able to make those changes and not just do it for that day, or that week or that month, but do it for forever.

So I definitely, you know, appreciate that. And I wanted to now ask you for what I call your secret sauce. So it could be for you personally, or for your business. But what do you feel kind of sets you apart and makes you unique?

Teo Branzell 6:01

So basically, what makes me quote-unquote, unique or? Okay, That's a good question. Number one, I don't claim to know everything. And I can always say learn from anyone or even everyone, it doesn't matter who it is, or when really, so not, that's number one, I don't claim to know everything because I don't. And there's always someone who knows more than me that I can learn from. And that's number one. And number two, I don't want to, how should I put this in a good way, I want to give you everything, so you can do everything on your own.

And so I basically don't want to be your accountability coach or accountability partner. Because to be honest, it doesn't really work. If you have a person that you pay, then they hold you accountable. So what I like to do is give people the true key to any success. And that is a drive a motivation for why you want to do the thing you want to do for me, I wanted to lose weight. And if for other stuff want to lose weight, what you need is real motivation and the real drive. So I want to ask that we go a bit deeper on how you can find your own motivation and your own drive.

Gresham Harkless 7:50

Sure, absolutely.

Teo Branzell 7:52

Okay, so there are a few. There are a few ways that you can find your own motivation and your own drive. And that's to find your quote unquote, why? And to be honest, there, you can just ask yourself, Okay, I want to lose weight. Now I know what I want to do. Okay, why do I want to do it? Well, I have a few, I have a pair of pants in my classes that I want to fit him back into. That's a that's reason why you would like to lose weight.

Sure, but it won't help you and it won't be sustainable for the rest of your life. What happens then when if you do fit back into those patterns, then you might go back, you slip back into the old patterns that you had. So what I like to do is go deep, deep with the clients and the people that I help, but I don't need to be there. So I'm going to tell you exactly how to find your own motivation and drive. So you can do it on your own. So you have to figure out what you want to do, why you want to do it, and how you want and how you will do it.

So number one, what do you want to do? And figure that out? And then we can go into number two, which is to find the why. So I asked myself, Okay, why do I want to lose weight? Well, I want a six-pack. Then I ask myself again. Okay, why do I want the six-pack? Well, I want to get girls, okay, why would I like to Why would do I want to get girls? Well because I want to go for it. And then I just keep digging, that I kept digging. This is what I first started when I was 14 years old. And why do I want to get a girlfriend? Well, I want someone to love, basically. Okay, great. Why do you want someone to love you? Now we're getting deeper and deeper and deeper.

And that's what you have to do. And you just have to keep asking why. On the answers, you keep getting. So the deeper the reason, the stronger your motivation will be. And when you find that motivation, and that thing, the reason why you want to do something, yes, figure out how, which is pretty easy these days, because you have something called the Internet.

Gresham Harkless 10:45

Absolutely, no, I definitely appreciate you breaking that down. And you know, because I was going to ask you for a CEO hack. And there's no better hack than that, to be able to kind of tap into that motivation, tap into why you're trying to do something, and then figure out those three part ways exactly how to do that. So now I wanted to ask you for what I call a CEO nugget. And this is a word of wisdom or piece of advice. Or if you could hop into a time machine, what would you tell your younger business self?

Teo Branzell 11:13

I would tell myself, things are gonna be okay. That's what I would tell myself. Because I've grown into tough times, and I'm, I'm going to go through tough times and even tougher times in my life. And what I would tell my younger self is things are going to be okay. And yeah, things are going to be okay.

Gresham Harkless 11:46

Yeah, yeah, I appreciate you're saying that. And I think so many times, you know, we get to go through, you know, difficult parts in our lives, in our businesses, and even in our health journeys as well to that, sometimes we need to know that we need to hear that from ourselves from others. And that allows us to kind of continue on or fight the fight. Sometimes it feels like and I think when you're in kind of like a not-so-great place, you sometimes isolate yourself, and you feel that way. So it's great to be able to have those reminders in that reality of the ups and downs of life and business and, and so on and so forth, but be able to say it's gonna be okay at the end of it.

Teo Branzell 12:25

Yes.

Gresham Harkless 12:27

And now I wanted to ask you my absolute favorite question, which is the definition of what it means to be a CEO. And we're hoping to have different, quote-unquote CEOs on the show. So tell what does being a CEO mean to you?

Teo Branzell 12:38

I would say, to be the leader for the mission that you're trying to accomplish because every CEO is basically driving a business. And I hope that every business has a mission. And when you have a mission, you need to have someone to drive the mission forward and have someone to basically make sure that you accomplish what you set out. For some people, it might be just to feed your family. And that's great. But for somewhere, some others, it might be something in what's the word, something grander, quote, unquote, to maybe change the world, and to be the CEO is basically to be the person that is there to make sure that you really reach that goal and to be a leader to and to help other people in the organization or the business.

Gresham Harkless 13:50

Absolutely, I appreciate it. I love that definition, just because a lot of times, you know, we all have different missions as you said, and different goals for what we're trying to do. But it's kind of that same formula that we have to go through no matter how grand your mission might be, or how quote-unquote small it might be, or not as grand may be a better way to say it. But I appreciate that definition. Appreciate that perspective, appreciate the leadership, and say that as well. And what I want to do is pass you the mic, so to speak, just to see if there's anything additional, you can let our readers and listeners know and then of course, how best they can follow up with you to get a hold of you and find out about all the awesome things you're working on.

Teo Branzell 14:25

Yes, keep working and eventually, you're going to succeed. That's something that I need to remind myself all the time. And that's also something that's kind of obvious, but also if you need to know it, then you need to be reminded of it from point time to time. If you want to get a hold of me, you can go to my website TeoBranzell.com. And if you scroll down to the bottom, you can see all my social media there. And it's the same for all social media platforms TeoBranzell.

Gresham Harkless 15:19
