Gresham Harkless 0:38

Yeah, super excited to have you on, and what I want to do is just read a little bit more about Carmen so you can hear about all the awesome things that she's doing. And Carmen Wilde is a top-rated, Business Breakthrough & Behavioral Specialist who helps entrepreneurs make the SWITCH from sporadic growth to Wilde Success! By age 30, Carmen was an international division head for a billion-dollar organization and a self-made millionaire.

She’s a successful multinational entrepreneur, who has over 20 years of commercial experience and has helped hundreds of business leaders unleash hidden potential and achieve breakthrough results… from doubling growth and building 7-figure businesses in less than a year, to shifting from ‘Setback to Success Track’ and building Magnetic Confidence. [restrict paid=”true”]

Carmen Wilde 1:33

I certainly am. Thanks, Gresham.

Gresham Harkless 1:35

No problem. Thank you. And the first question I had was the hear a little bit more about what I call your CEO story and what led you to start your business.

Carmen Wilde 1:42

Great, thank you. So Gresham it's all started for me at the age of 13. So I stepped into my friend's grand entrance hall. And this mansion of a home and just in that moment became aware of how the other half live. And something made me ask her Candace was your dad's dad rich? And I was like, Oh, no common. He's always telling me how poor they were, and how he bought everything from scratch. And it was at that moment that the switch actually was made from a history of financial struggle in my family to success. And the switch was made simply because I knew that if he could do it so could I.

I had no idea how. But that didn't matter. In the moment, though, what it did for me at the tender age of 13 is it created this restlessness, it was like I need to find answers. Well, how do people become a success? And more importantly, how do people like me who don't have successful role models have this family history of struggle? How do we break through this feeling? And so my quest for success started that day, and it just changed my life forever. So from a young age, I wanted to own my own business.

And after varsity, I tried it, but hell it was, it was a disaster. It was premature, I had no clue what I was doing. And I decided that, okay, if I want to be good at this, I best learn from the best. So I entered the blue-chip corporate arena. And I was exposed to some incredible business minds, really amazing business leaders. And the last function and job role I had, I was exposed to some of the best high-performance companies in the world.

So at the height of my career, I decided it was finally time to follow my entrepreneurial dream. And because I believe that you accelerate success by surrounding yourself with successful people, instead of going at it alone, I decided to partner with Gary Wilde, a successful turnaround specialist and I created a business coaching practice under our brand Wild Success.

And my mission and my driving force was and still is, to this day to help as many driven entrepreneurs as possible, unlock their success potential, no matter what the past, or current circumstances or challenges so that they can become unstoppable and wildly successful in business. And I'm hugely passionate about working with entrepreneurs because I believe that they have the potential and the power to make our world a profoundly better place. So that's how it all started. Gresham.

Gresham Harkless 4:15

Nice. Well, I absolutely love that story. Because I think a lot of times when you hear success stories you always hear, you know that it starts from the day before that person becomes quote, unquote, successful. But a lot of it is built over years and years and years. And I think a lot of times, sometimes we become a product of our environment, as you kind of touched on it. We don't necessarily realize that this is possible until we see somebody doing it and say, hey, you know, they put their pants on just like I do one foot at a time. I can do it so I can do it. And that kind of propelled you towards doing all the awesome things that you're doing. So I think that's pretty awesome to hear.

Carmen Wilde 4:46

Thank you.

Gresham Harkless 4:47

You're welcome. And I know you touched on it a little bit, but I wanted to hear a little bit more about how you're serving the clients that you work with. Can you tell us a little bit more about that?

Carmen Wilde 4:54

Yeah, sure. So what I provide is tailored business coaching services to entrepreneurs and executives and like I said I help them become unstoppable and wildly successful in business. So I've been doing this for the last 12 years now. And my coaching services range from an email coaching subscription for quick answers to those pressing challenges. Yes, it's lonely as an entrepreneur or a business leader. And sometimes you just need that answer outside of your team and outside of yourself that's relevant to you right now. And so it's basically a coaching on-demand service via email, then I have an online group coaching program to accelerate business success, and also a tailored one-to-one business coaching service that's online. And it's for individual clients all over the world. And that is to help them just knock the ball out of the park.

Gresham Harkless 5:47

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Well, I love all those aspects, because I guess, and you could definitely let me know if you experienced this at different levels with different needs. So you have different kinds of services that you provide to them that can help them out, depending on how best they probably learned and how they need that kind of kick in the butt sometimes and things like that.

Carmen Wilde 6:03

Absolutely. And of course, it's different budgets and different needs, you know, some people need much more intense, one-to-one coaching, some people want the group into action, and then other people just need that. Just need to know that, wow, I've got someone on call when I need them, whether it be midnight, or whatever it is, I can just quickly pop a mail to someone. So yes, it's different needs that are serviced.

Gresham Harkless 6:29

Yeah, that's awesome. And I have not heard, at least to my knowledge of a lot of people that have done, you know, the quick popping of the email, as you mentioned, as well. So I think that's a really good opportunity. Because a lot of times, you know, sometimes especially night owls like myself, sometimes we're working so late to actually call on a person that late is not great for anybody. So you'd be able to shoot an email and get responses definitely great.

Carmen Wilde 6:50

Absolutely.

Gresham Harkless 6:51

And you might have touched on this a little bit. But I want to ask you for what I call your secret sauce. And this is kind of what you feel kind of sets you or your organization apart and makes you kind of unique.

Carmen Wilde 6:59

Hmm, sure. So there isn't really one thing, I have six key things that my clients, you know, through feedback that my clients have said, This is what they believe makes me stand out in the coaching world. At the end of the day, it all boils down to results, results, and results. So which is my first key thing, I help my clients get real results. And for me, it's the value that they receive, absolutely must 100% far exceed the cost. And I have a track record to prove that. Then secondly, I want my clients to see growth and results every single week.

So every single client interaction coaching, our that's what we do there is it's real, this quick win every single week, I want them to see momentum every single week. So they feel that every hour is well worth the time that they've invested in it. Then number three is I have this superpower where I'm able to create very simple tools and models. And I give my clients these simple, powerful, but proven models to solve very complex problems rapidly.

And what this does is, all of a sudden, they you know, the toolkit is boosted, the confidence is boosted. And it makes them feel great about business to solve things in a simple way. But it's complex stuff that they solving. Number four, because I'm a cognitive behavioral specialist, it enables me to help my clients understand the behavioral drivers of success. And that's just life-changing for them. Five is I have a very unique outlook on challenges that I share with my clients. And this gets them unstuck in building momentum very fast.

And then six, I'm able to empathize with my clients because I've been a successful corporate executive and entrepreneur with businesses in four countries. And then beyond those six differentiators, because my services are all online, it's very convenient for business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Gresham Harkless 9:00

Yeah, absolutely, to be able to have access to all those things. You know, 24/7 is definitely huge. Because, you know, like I mentioned, you know, people work at different times, people have peak times at different times of the day as well, too. And definitely, as you mentioned, you know, having clients and being able to, you know, create businesses in different parts of the world. We're also in different time zones as well. So to be able to kind of tap into that 24/7 is definitely a huge thing.

Carmen Wilde 9:21

Absolutely.

Gresham Harkless 9:22

Awesome, awesome, awesome. And now I wanted to switch gears a little bit and ask you for what I call a CEO hack. And this might be an app or book or habit that you have, but it's something that makes you more effective and efficient

Carmen Wilde 9:32

So I think there's so many things that we do but you know, it's like what really made a difference for me. And, so I kind of turned it live more to profit more, which I think was my life and business hack that I want to speak to. And I learned this the very hard way after hitting burnout too many times in my life from working 18 hours a day and every single weekend for the next stained a period of time, I realized that I was just building inefficiency into my business. And what dawned on me was that when you start to live beyond your business, you actually build a better business.

And this led me to become more focused every single day, it forced me to prioritize, to say no, and not to lose time to drama, or minutia. So became so much more present and creative and effective. And one big thing I did is I started scheduling downtime into my daily schedule, which just made a world of difference to me. And then I gave myself every single weekend off, which was huge, and ironies, I found that the harder I played, the better I became at work, which was a really cool thing to find out. So, you know, very often I and I'm quite surprised, even though it happens so often, I'm still surprised by it, that my most creative thoughts and ideas actually come to me when I'm not at my computer. So yeah, Livermore to profit more is huge. And don't wait to hit burnout to find that out.

Gresham Harkless 11:02

Yeah, I absolutely love that live more the profit more, and I'm definitely gonna, you know, echo that over and over again, and say that to myself as well, too, because it's funny because I think a lot of my best ideas and things that I've come up with have been either while I'm on vacation, which is crazy because you know when you're away from the desk away from you're away from the grind, that you start to really think at things differently.

And it sounds definitely counterintuitive, because you think that it's going to happen when you're grinding, you know, doing an 18-hour day working on a 20 or 48-hour binge or whatever. But a lot of times, it's when you step away, when you rest, you not only make better decisions, because you're well rested, you have a different perspective, but it also allows you to kind of, you know, be more efficient and effective in that time that you have. Now, I wanted to ask you another one of my favorite questions, which is a CEO, nugget. And this is a word of wisdom or piece of advice. Or if you can happen to be a time machine, what would you tell your younger business self?

Carmen Wilde 11:54

I would say success isn't hindered by the challenges that we face, it's hindered by how we choose to face those challenges. So for me, business success has much, much, much less to do with the external factors that we can't control, which are interestingly the things that we worry about and struggle with the most. But it actually has so much more to do with the internal factors that we actually have total control over.

And it's those internal factors like how we think about ourselves, our business, the environment, how we think about people, our past, present, and our future. So in a nutshell, then if you want to change the outcomes in your business, you need to change the way you think how you solve problems, how you make decisions, and differently how you act. And you know, I've written extensively about this, and I've got a business program as well.

So if you want to read more about this nugget, it's, I've got a free report, and I'm happy to put it out to you Gresham. It's called the 4 Accelerators of business success, and it speaks to this principle.

Gresham Harkless 12:58

Nice yeah, we definitely you know, love to have that. And we can add that to the show notes as well, too, because I think is absolutely huge, where, you know, sometimes you're just again, So in wrapping your business and doing so many different things that you sometimes lose focus and perspective on those outside things and how they can make an effect. And sometimes you become a product of your environment when realizing that if you do some inner work, you look at your mindset, maybe look at how you're, you know, making a decision, whatever that might be like, as you mentioned in those I'm sure that report definitely drills down on, you can make a lot more of an impact and allows you to control what you can control.

Carmen Wilde 13:30

Absolutely. The way in which we see the world around us impacts everything. And it's an energy that we're putting out to the world. And as business leaders, we have to be in our power all the time. So we can't afford to be anything but at our best. And that comes from really starting with the way we think which then translates into decisions, which is ultimately what creates good business. So yes, it's again, you know, success isn't hindered by those challenges we face, it's how we choose to face them.

Gresham Harkless 14:02

That's powerful. I absolutely love that. And now I wanted to ask you my absolute favorite question, which is the definition of what it means to be a CEO or hoping to have different quote unquote, CEOs on the show. So, Carmen, I want to ask you, what does being a CEO mean to you?

Carmen Wilde 14:14

What a lovely question. Thanks, Gresham. For me, it's the opportunity to add value. It's I want to just it's this opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's businesses and in their personal lives. And that enables me then to leave this indelible mark beyond my lifetime. And then it means freedom to live life by my design doing the things that I just absolutely love doing.

Gresham Harkless 14:39

I absolutely love that value and freedom because a lot of times you know, you want to be able to like you said leave your legacy and be able to do things that amount so much more and beyond you know our time in this world so to speak. So being able to do that and then have the freedom to be able to decide how you can do that and what ways you're gonna do that is definitely you know, important. I love that definition. I love that perspective. And Carmen, I truly appreciate you for taking some time out and all the value that you provide to us today. What I want to do is pass you the mic just to see if there's anything additional, you want to let our readers and our listeners know how they can get a copy of the report, find out about all the awesome things that you're doing, and then also how they can get in touch with you as well.

Carmen Wilde 15:16

Awesome. So how they can get in touch with me is on my website. It's www.wildsuccess.com. The free report that I think will make the link available on your show notes. But for those who would like to download it straight away, it's wildsuccess.com/4acceleratorsofbusinesssuccess. And you can get there's a contact page on my website, and you're very welcome to email me directly through the contact page as well.

Gresham Harkless 15:55

Awesome, awesome, awesome. And we'll make sure to have those links in the show notes for the report for your website and your contact information as well. So I truly appreciate you again Carmen for all the awesome things that you're doing and all the wild success that you've had. And I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day.

It's called Four accelerators of business success, and it speaks to this principle.

Gresham Harkless 12:58

Nice yeah, we definitely you know, love to have that. And we can add that to the show notes as well, too, because I think is absolutely huge, where, you know, sometimes you're just again, So in wrapping your business and doing so many different things that you sometimes lose focus and perspective on those outside things and how they can make effect. And sometimes you become a product of your environment, when realizing that if you do some inner work, you look at your mindset, maybe look at how you're, you know, making a decision, whatever that might be like, as you mentioned in those I'm sure that report definitely drills down on, you can make a lot more of an impact and allows you to control what you can control.

Carmen Wilde 13:30

Absolutely. The way in which we see the world around us impacts everything. And it's an energy that we're putting out to the world. And as business leaders, we have to be in our power all the time. So we can't afford to be anything but at our best. And that comes from from really it starts with the way we think which then translates into decisions, which is ultimately what creates good business. So yes, it's again, you know, success isn't hindered by those challenges we we face, it's how we choose to face them.

Gresham Harkless 14:02

That's powerful. I absolutely love that. And now I wanted to ask you my absolute favorite question, which is the definition of what it means to be a CEO or hoping to have different quote unquote, CEOs on the show. So Carmen, I want to ask you, what does being a CEO mean to you?

Carmen Wilde 14:14

What a lovely question. Thanks, Gresham. For me, it's it's the opportunity to add value.

I absolutely love that value and freedom because a lot of times you know, you want to be able to like you said leave your legacy and be able to do things that amounts are so much more and beyond you know our time on this world so to speak. So being able to do that and then have the freedom to be able to decide how you can do that and what ways you're gonna do that is definitely you know, importance.
