Anything Additional You can Share

Blue16 Media is a digital marketing agency with a goal to change lives using media and technology.

“Don’t tell me that skies are the limit, when there are footprints on the moon”

  • Make sure that you don’t let people tell you that the sky is the limit, make sure you create your own sky, and make sure you can make your own definition of what it means to be a CEO.
  • You get to run your own race, chart your own path, you get to create something that has not been done before, you get to do the impossible.
  • Don’t allow those doubts, those people that haven’t seen your vision, that they will create a box around your vision, your dream, your skills, or your beliefs.
  • Don’t feel like you don’t have what you need to be able to get to where you want to be. You have everything you need and you can reach the moon and beyond.

Do you want to learn effective ways to build relationships, generate sales, and grow your business from successful entrepreneurs, startups, and CEOs without listening to a long, long, long interview? If so, you've come to the right place. Gresham Harkness values your time and is ready to share with you precisely the information you're in search of. This is the I AM CEO podcast.

00:42 – Gresham Harkless

This is episode number 1233. My name is Gresh and this is the I AM CEO podcast. As you have been listening to the last few episodes, the goal of this kind of series, I guess of episodes was really to break down each of the questions that I usually ask, you know, during the podcast, to really hear on a deeper level than maybe a couple of minutes of some of the questions that I asked, but also to I think it helps out as far as like understanding the why behind the questions. I always usually close the podcast out with the combo question. It's going to be 1233.

And of course, 1234 is gonna be a little bit more of an interesting one because it's gonna be a little bit more unique. But I always ask if there's anything additional that you wanna let the readers, and listeners know and how best people get to know all of you. What would I say on the podcast? There are so many things that you want to say. I always think that one of the most exciting things that I've learned from entrepreneurship and business is just that motivational factor. I don't believe motivational is motivation is nothing.

As Mel Robbins might say, I definitely believe it's something. And it doesn't mean that every time you're feeling down or you're going through frustration, you're gonna be able to cut on a YouTube video, and then you're gonna be able to run through a brick wall every single time. But I do definitely think there is a time and place for being able to kind of get in that mindset and that frame to be able to be motivated enough to take that extra step.

Maybe not run through the brick wall, but maybe take the next step so that you're getting closer to that brick wall. But you feel, and maybe understand as you get closer, it's not actually brick. So one of my favorite quotes, and this is what I want to kind of leave everybody with is that, don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon. And I really want to unpack that question and that kind of desire to show the world and the people within the world, and even in the galaxy at that, that there are only limitations that we put upon ourselves.

So if there's something that you're thinking about doing, if there's a goal that you're thinking about having, remember that people will tell you the sky's the limit, but don't forget that there are footprints on the moon. There were once things that I'm using right now that we're all using that were imagination, they weren't going to happen, they were possible, but somebody had the will, the desire, the resilience. Just to say, hey, I'm going to make this happen. You tell me that it's not going to happen.

That only gives me motivation so that I can show you that it will happen. And don't get me wrong, it's going to take frustration. It's got to take fighting. It's going to take everything that you have out of you, but don't give up on that dream. Don't give up on that special gift that you have. It's those people that continue on are those people that end up, you know, reaching and seeing that success. So with this kind of being my way of signing out, you know, for now, but definitely, you know, going into, you know, January 2022, make sure that you don't let people tell you the sky's the limit. Make sure that you get to create your own sky.

You get to create your own definition of what it means to be a CEO. You get to run your own race. You get to chart your own path. You get to create something that has never been done before. You get to do the impossible. And I'm a big believer And I believe in God and the saying, the quote, the scripture, everything is possible. Anything is possible with him. And even if you're not a believer, I would definitely encourage you to really tap into having the understanding that there are things that people don't see as realistic that become realistic because somebody does it.

There's a story about, and I can't remember the exact number of the four-minute mile and how is it possible, physically impossible for anybody to be able to run the four-minute mile. It's not going to be possible. Sub 4, impossible, not going to happen. One person did it. And after one person did it, another person did it. Then 3 people, just started to create this chain of like, okay, the sky isn't the limit. There's a foot, there are footprints on the moon. There is something that's, you know, possible.

So I would definitely encourage you to really tap into that. I'm going to show you mentality. And something that I think is a big part of me. I definitely, you know, sometimes can feel bad, feel down when, you know, people doubt me or people say that it's impossible. Or people say that you're too young, you're too this, you're too that. It could definitely hurt. And it could definitely hurt, especially if it's those people that are close to you. But I will say this, those people that have reached that success, those people that ran the 4 minutes for sub 4 minute mile, those people that are able to go to the moon, those people that were able to take a piece of metal and bend it and fly all the way across the world, the people that were able to kind of create cars out of what were originally just horse and buggies.

Those are people that thought differently. Those are people that look at things in a different way. Those are people who have that defiance. They said, hey, you may not see it, but I see this vision this goal, whatever it is, was given to me so that I can manifest it so that you will then that you will then understand, you will then know. So I'm talking to everybody who's listening to this, but I'm also talking to myself as well. So you don't allow those doubts. Don't allow those people who don't necessarily see your vision or see what it is that you're able to do. Don't let them create a box around your vision, around your dreams, around your abilities, around your skills, around your heart, around your beliefs, just don't allow that to happen.

And you get to make that decision on a regular basis. There are many stories, of people who have shown perseverance, people who showed willpower, people who showed that desire, that was bigger than sometimes their pain, their discomfort, and sometimes their resources. But being able to kind of tap into that is something that I just wanna leave everybody with. That's my word of wisdom. As we again ease into 2022, just don't feel like you don't have what you need to be able to get to where you want to be.

You have everything you need and you can reach the moon. You can reach beyond the moon. You can go farther and better than anybody has ever gone before. And if no.1 is going to tell you that, listen to me, 'cause I'm telling you that you can do that. So whatever that thought is, whatever that dream is, if it is to lose a certain amount of weight, if it is to start that business, If it is to completely create an entirely different industry, do it. I implore you, I cheer you on, and I hope you continue to do it. If there's anything I could do, definitely let me know. This is Gresh signing out. Hopefully, have a phenomenal rest of the day.
