Do you want to learn effective ways to build relationships, generate sales, and grow your business from successful entrepreneurs, startups, and CEOs without listening to a long, long, long interview? If so, you've come to the right place. Gresham Harkness values your time and is ready to share with you precisely the information you're in search of. This is the I AM CEO podcast.

00:34 – Gresham Harkless

Hello. Hello. Hello. This is Gresh from the I AM CEO podcast. And this is a special episode as we transition and leave off the summer. What I want to do is just do some special announcements. We've reached over 1, 400 episodes, knocking on the door to 1, 500 episodes. And so with that being said, always been testing, and thinking about different ways and different ideas and different kinds of solutions, hopefully to help CEOs, entrepreneurs, and business owners to succeed. And with that being said, I just wanted to kind of do a little bit of an announcement. One of them today, is CV Nation lists. One of the things that I've been going through is a kind of coaching program or program that I'm getting coached through is a better way to say it.

One aspect of that coaching has kind of challenged me with doing and creating something that is more quote-unquote strategically lazy. And what I mean by that is, anytime that you're trying to create something potentially that has the opportunity to scale, you're going to be more quote-unquote strategically lazy. It doesn't mean that you don't put in hard work, doesn't mean that you don't put in that time. You just think really long and hard about how you can potentially create things that have that scalable aspect, that have the kind of consistent foundational aspects of what it is, where you have some work to do and you just kind of push the rock up the hill. Instead of having to push the rock while also trying to drink water, while also trying to have to, you know, water the grass all while, you know, you're potentially running a podcast.

And all I mean by that is that often when you're running a business, you feel like you're juggling so many different things. What you're able to do when you're able to truly scale well is you find out what the essential things are for what it is that you do and then you try to scale from that perspective, you know, the other things. So with that being said, one of the foundational aspects that I was kind of challenged with was creating what eventually became what is now called CB Nation lists. You can think of it as a directory, you can think of it as a way by which we get to capture people specifically who have been on this podcast, but also many other ways. So we have a DMV, a DV, and a DMV list, which is part of the CB Nation directory. We're going to have one related to the CEO blog nation.

If you have a blog and you're blogging for business, we'll have a directory related to that. Essentially these lists provide opportunities for people, especially those who have been featured, but even those who have not, to have more visibility around what it is that they do. So for example, the CB Nation list that's related to the. I AM CEO podcast consists of guests as well as people who want to join that specific community and that specific list. So you'll see details about what people do. You'll see details about the potential that they've been featured. And that'll be all, you know, very apparent when you go through, you know, each of the directory listings.

So super excited about that because it really touches on two of the cores that I really try to focus on, which is in our equation, visibility plus resources times connections equals success. And those two things are visibility and connection. So the visibility piece really rings true more than anything else, because it's gonna provide an opportunity for you to sit down through a directory that has a little bit more structured and organized way that she can find potential providers for the products and or services that you're looking for. So very local level. You think if you're looking for somebody who can help out with a wedding that you have planned, you're in the DC man and virgin area, you can find that. If you are looking for a business coach, you can go through the directory. You can find that. If you're looking through the I AM CEO Podcasts directory, the I AM CEO list, you're going to see that they're actually going to also include the podcast episodes.

So we're also, you know, working through getting each of the people that have been featured on a podcast promoted through the directory. So lots of exciting things, but at the end of the day, you know, we're getting back to, you know, the core of what we're trying to do and being tasked with something that allows me to be more quote unquote, strategically lazy allows us to really, you know, make a bigger impact. Because as we grow the list, as we optimize it with obviously Blue 16 Media's SEO services, we're gonna be able to hopefully get more visibility around our site, the things that we're doing, but on an even deeper level now, there's gonna be more intertwined connection and list for people to kind of thumb through and find the providers that they're looking for. So make sure that you check out the list.

Of course, this is not the only list. Each list is going to be connected to one of the different lists. You can already see it live, we have our global lists at cbnation. co. Forward slash list. We have one for the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area at DMVCEO.com forward slash list. You're going to see a lot of other sites that pop up. The I AM CEO podcast list is the I AM CEO.co forward slash list. Obviously, we have our CEO hacks list, which is ceohacks.co for slash list. So all in all, you're going to see that we're launching more and more of these lists to really hopefully provide visibility around some of the things that people are doing and do it in a very strategic way so that at the end of the day we can hopefully drive more opportunities and more visibility for these service providers.

So the big thing is that of course, you can join each of the lists in different ways. So each one is gonna have different tiered pricing, related to them, but make sure, of course, if you have that directory listing that you claim it, but even if you don't have a listing, make sure that you go and you frequent these different directory listings. We're looking to add on some potential, you know, additional features down the line, but we want to get that basis in place. And it's been, you know, really, you know, difficult to be very honest for me not to do something that's more strategically lazy, so to speak. The challenge with that has been, that I'm very much a busybody, always have been, but now it's been charged on me to see how I could potentially change that around and be more impactful, not using my energy, my time, my resources to continue to kind of grow and expand things.

And as the team has grown, of course, that's always gonna push you a little bit more out of your comfort zone. But this especially has because it made me think and get to the core of what we're ultimately trying to do, which is provide that visibility. The best way, one of the best ways I should say is that while we're creating lots and lots of content, there are lots of opportunities for people to be featured. What can we do so that it becomes more scalable? And this is definitely one of the ways that we could do that. So this is Grash signing out. I hope you enjoyed this episode. I hope even more that you check out the CB Nation list. Have the links in the show notes to each of the lists that are launching. We're also going to put the master kind of list of the lists that we have on the site.

So you can see the ones that are potentially launching like black disruptors and some of the other, you know, really hopefully impactful things that you can find, you know, across the site. So this is Gresh signing out. I hope you have a phenomenal rest of the day. And remember, I always say the name of the game is often to be found. So we're trying to make it easier for you to be found on our site. So thank you and have a phenomenal rest of the day.
